Currently there is no differentiation between having wing ords or bomb bay ords selected (unless they're different lbs or type). The two aircraft which I see this as a problem is the Mossie and the A20. When upping with equal ords under the wings and in the belly there is no way to tell which set you're selected on. Can we have an indication added? E.g.: Up in A20 with 8 x 500. 4 in the belly, 4 on the wings. When selected on the wing bombs add a "W" after the selection. So instead of
B50 | 4
You see:
B50W | 4
And for the bomb bay:
B50B | 4

Always wanted this, never was smart enough to think to post it here.

I rarely fly bombers, but I approve of this idea.
Wiley.

I like the idea, I think it has been suggested before.
I'd rather see (I) or (E) for bomb selection for Internal or External, instead of B or W.

+1 would be a nice alteration.

Worse, the A-20G, Il-2, Mosquito Mk VI and Mosquito Mk XVI are not consistent about whether the first option or the second option are under wing or in the bomb bay.
-
Seems like a reasonable wish to me :aok

x2. Lost a triple-kill on tanks today when I thought I was on wing bombs. Pressed the pickle and all I got was a "Bomb bay doors are not opened"
:bhead
-
Only was to be sure you won't fail currently is to quickly tap O before your pickle. I have my doors mapped right next to my secondary fire in my bomber mode control scheme.
-
HTC will give you this option at the expense of losing the F3 option.
Are you up for that trade?

Mossie VI doesn't have an F3 view....
Nor does the Il-2.
Both suffer from this as well.
-
That's because the mossie you mention is a fighter/attack aircraft.
Strangely, the mossie with 6 x 500 does have F3 view.
I stand by my earlier post.

You missed my point. Bombers are not the other aircraft affected by the lack of an indicator if bombs are under the wings or in the bomb bay.

default on A-20 is allways bomb bay, whats so hard about that ?

+1 to OP

Because it is not consistent across the aircraft that have both internal and external bombs.

And your basis for this comment is what?

I just always make a huge motion of hitting the Backspace key on takeoff when I up an A-20. This reminds me to drop wings first, and it helps me remember that yes, I already selected my underwing bombs... Not a huge inconvenience.

I do the same thing, wil3ur. However, in the heat of the moment, sometimes I forget which I'm selected on! Or perhaps I THINK I pressed backspace, but really that was on the previous sortie (d'oh!). I do also take the "open the bomb bar doors regardless" approach - however, I prefer to drop wing bombs first. I think in reality the A20 pilot would have a selector of some sort. I think we should have the same luxury. Reasonable and easy to add!

I used that comment do detect people with zero sense of humor.
Thanks for stepping forward.

Always glad to help! :)

No you did not, you were trolling.

Thanks for the input, folks. Glad to know we all agree that this would be a good feature! Seems simple enough to implement, no?
