i've loaded the game on a new laptop and the icons color goes in and out, mostly out. all the icon colors are the same,a light blue. the distortion comes threw on screen text like the auto-takeoff indication also, but not on the text window display.ive played with rez and reinstalled w/&w/out hi-reztexture. its as if the base background color is coming through tho the icon can still be seen.

Intel graphics are NOT meant for gaming. They handle web stuff ok but 3D graphics really kill them. A work around may be to turn down the graphics settings in the game, textures to 256 and turn down the eye candy.

With the Intel video chip make sure the "Maximum Texture Size" is set to 128, and the game resolution is not higher than 1280x1024. That might help.
Also make sure you keep on top of the video drivers as Intel video chips are very problematic, at best, for 3D games.

thank you for the help. Ive yet to mess with it much more. I was kind of figuring that the drivers haven't had time to being patched with the newer chip. I had tried to use a smaller screen resolution and textures at, what is it, 1024. ill try it at 128 and see if its linked to that. I hadn't figured that was it tho cause my old comp from 2002 with integrated graphics drew the textures right just at very slow fps. My bro has a newer duel core comp with a dedicated graphics card and he said he had a similar problem that all his icons are black, but i don't have details. another peculiar thing is that the laptop handled everything else fine but that the fps seemed to max out a 60fps lowering the resolution and other properties didn't bring them up. i hadn't thought the hertz would determine the fps seems maybe it does. I'll try to let you know if i work anything out.

Integrated Intel graphics has all kinds of strange graphics anomalies regardless as to how good the performance is. This isn't just a problem with Aces High... virtually all games with 3D engines have problems running properly with integrated graphics chips. It's almost as if Intel doesn't believe that standards that ATI and Nvidia adhere to don't apply to them.
Simply put I wouldn't count on being able to reliably run any serious game with integrated graphics and definitely don't count on new video drivers ever coming out to correct all of it. Computers with integrated graphics (and especially laptops with integrated graphics) simply aren't designed for this sort of thing.

The 'black' bug is due to the 9000 series ATI vide card drivers. All 9000 series ATI cards have this bug. These video cards are not much better than the latest generation Intel video chips.
