This one was inadvertently suggested by vWNTRGRN in a message he sent me. It has something to do with running missions these days :devil

funny but misleading. it seems to imply that the reason vtards wont fight is because they go take the base. I am pretty sure they can still take the base if 5 out of their 40 man mission fight the airplanes passing by as they go hunt for the goons. I have flown right thru them several times unmolested as I go kill the goons or turn around and start killing plane after plane until i run out of ammo because they wont even move to defend themselves.

I wonder if you're mis-seeing it...the point is that the entire mission is dumping their ords to go kill one guy on the deck, and thus they won't have enough to thoroughly pillage the base. Generally missions are hueg(sic) enough that they can just vulch the place to oblivion anyway, though.

Ironic this happened yesterday while I was in a 262 - just took off to rook land, 6 vTards in P51's and B38s decided to drop their ords to dive on me, they were going to shut down one of the airfields, but I guess decided I was a juicier target.
Only problem was - none got close to me, and everyone of em were shot down (including the one who augered a 110 trying to pick me)
Shame I didn't film it :bhead :bhead

The point is that a lot of newer players will immediately forget about their primary objective when they see something low to engage. The base taking mission immediately turns into a fighter sweep because too many guys got light to fight bombers that just took off and there aren't enough guys still heavy to close the field or flag the town.
I also get a kick out of the players who can tell which squad each of the individual red plane icons belong to. I saw a red icon yesterday that I thought for sure was a member of the Few so I turned into it and started firing. Because I'm a sportsman and enjoy honing my skills @ aerial combat I started firing while he was coming at me head on at a range of about 3k. He must have cheated because he did way more damage to me than I did to him even though I flew straight through his plane and I ended up getting killed. To top it all off it wasn't even a member of the few, it was some idiot noob named after a zip code. I'm sure he must have been cheating.
