Leaders at my school are pretty awesome, lenient yet enforcing, they are awesome as long as you don't cross out of line which some people do. I'm actually joining rifle club with some friends as soon as they crank that out.

This is a manly forum... for posting a thread with the title 'shoes' you either have to create an account on a makeup site and study for 40 hours or do 100 pushups without stopping.

The decision is yours young man..

I work at a steel mill and the guys look at me weird when I bring my shoe polish kit and start shining my work boots using a qtip and a small rag.  and do it once a month and people usually get a kick out of it.  as they dont take care of their boots and just buy new ones.

When spit polishing use cold water, and I mean cold, and a soft cloth. Just a dab of cold water on your cloth with a small swipe of polish, and polish in small circles one small area at a time. After a few applications over a few days they will start to come up. You can get them to look like glass if you are patient and persistent.

They already look like they are getting a good base shine and will start really coming up soon.

Its an art. :aok

cheers,
RTR

I'm in a pipe band... my shoes always have a dull shine to them... you can't see your reflection, more just your outline, and maybe a physical feature or two. I figured out why.

NEUTRAL SHOE POLISH.

This is correct.

I would add that if you do not have a good thick base of polish you need to apply several layers using the application brush then the buff brush.

You can not spit shine boots that do not have a nice base on them.

You have to build it up.

RTR is right..use very cold water....small circles.....work the polish...pressure is important.

I did a quick Google search and found this, "How to Polish your Shoes like an Absolute Psycho":

http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-polish-your-shoes-like-an-absolute-psycho/#step1

This guy used a 600 Watt (I don't know if that is much or little) drill with a polishing wheel glued onto an adapter as a miniature power-buffer to shine his shoes.  I don't know much about this kind of thing, but is this a good idea?

Short answer is no. You can burn the polish on the shoes that way pretty easily. Shoe wax is not as hard as automotive wax and does not tolerate the same kind of polishing forces or heat.
