Whos your favourite wingman?
Mine:
- Sukov hes the best wingman ive ever seen, a good pilot, cool and brave guy, always up to save your butt if needed
- Kazan i wish we can wing up once more
- Manurin amazing what he can do in that brick
-
Amsoil, MickyD, Bagrat, TomFool and Klingan are great and never steel your kills.
The danger with winging is being accused of ganging mind :old:
-
For obvious reasons, maybe this thread should be aimed at wingmen outside of your squadron/group of friends that you fly with?

Nope, Kaz. Its only a salute to our favourite wingman, whoever he is.
-
I like winging with Twinboom. While its more often than not that he is saving my butt, I just love watching him fly. He is good in just about anything and I always learn something new.

Three of the best I've had the pleasure of working with.

A good wingman, is one that pretty much knows how you are going to fight a target, without saying much beyond which plane you are looking at. Knows your merge style and sets up accordingly to cover you or attack your bandit. Also helps if you trained your wingman so you are thinking on the same priorities in a fight. BigB was probably my first wingman that knew what I was thinking most of the time (scary thought :lol). My new Wingman PuppetZ, is getting pretty good at figuring me out :aok

I don't really wing up with a wingman, but when I have Snakeiis is top class.

was wingin with Kappa the other day, I even commented to him how we make good wingies, its like we know where the other guy is gonna be, and on the good sorties everything works perfectly,
I think flying "style" has a part to play in it, similar flying styles will be make for better wingies. IMO
so Kappa would be top of the list but honestly all of the Muppets are great wingies, hell I remember one sortie me and Irish dominated like 15 guys :devil
-
Probably mine would be,
Vennum
2A Utah
Cafedo
There are a few more but there are some good wingmen out there, and in RL anyone who will dance with the fat girl.
-
Definately Dictonious, he flies with a name of Tikto in the game when he does, currently. He's always right behind me and reads my mind.
<S> Dicto!
Another one is PJK, we don't fly strictly as wingmen but usually end up in situations where we do our best bail each other out of and we understand each other's flying habits so well that it can be pretty seamless when it works out. Also, it is great to fly as Camo's wingman but we fairly rarely see each other in the game nowadays.

<S> Debrody we have had some good runs. The same could be said about your self.
-
Daddkev has always been a riot to fly with, also fun to fly against (mostly racing though)
-
raphael is a fun guy to wing with.
-
I guess i need to get a wingman sometimes :D

Does Loose Deuce count as a wingman?
Boo

You will quite often find me with Steely and Forkit...as for winging???hmmmm we do help each other out from time to time but normally we are laughing at the one got themselves into a multicon situation..... mostly though the best thing about flying with them is the chat...hahaha gets you through all the deaths with a good laugh...can't beat that.

knuckles, Ray77(og wingman), todd, 1177

anyone of the Pigs will do, thank you have a good day :)

why you dirty swine!!!!

My favourite wingman is Vilkas,I'm always honoured to fly with him in FSO and if your lucky enough to have him gun for you in a buff, you'll find he's deadly accurate!
:salute Mr Vilkas SIR!!!!
:salute

Slapshot is a good wingman to have. We usually end up flying as loose wingmen but always close enough for setting up the bandit or to help out if needed. If I was in a 1v1, Slapshot would orbit around keeping others from barging in until the fight was over and then we'd resume our winging. The funny thing is nothing is said between us the entire time.
ack-ack

I tend to get wingmen killed :)
I haven't had much flying time with Del in a while, but going back to our Airwarrior days, he's the best wingman I've ever had. Soulyss is a close second.
During the BoG scenario in the frames I flew in a 47 and 51B I had Shamus on my wing. He was really good too. No idea how he stayed with me, and kept me alive at the same time.

A good wingman dives in and gets you out of trouble. A great wingman dives in and dies with you. Or something like that. :joystick:

:salute Debrody, Kazan, Reaper...3 very good sticks I really appreciate to fly with.
If I could add a couple of others that would be: B2B, Doom and Redtop. Those folks always have an extra pair of eyes to check on you, coupled with great skills and great communication, it's the best recipy for a good wingman.
-
I would have included Silat in my list....but Lew tends to spend more time critiquing my outfit than clearing my six..... :noid

This thread makes me want to jump in the arena and wing up right now!

NathBDP was my favorite wingman bar none - we always knew exactly what the other was up to, no matter how unorthodox, without ever saying a word.
In Air Warrior, Kitty was definitely a favorite. We had some fun times trolling folks who took the game way too seriously.
-
I haven't talked to Kitty since she armed the hamsters. You still in touch?
-
Definitely Bruv! :aok

It's been awhile, maybe four years. Last I chatted with her, she'd gone to culinary school and was a sous chef in Los Angeles.

Any Prawn – not for the kills, that’s just a bonus.
It’s for the vibe.
And as far as sharing kills and working together in true wingman fashion – that’s always going to happen (except the sharing kills and working together bits). I just know they’re looking out for me and me for them.
And it’s not to accumulate score and “climb the ladder”. It’s all for the fight and the fun.

Hmmm. Del and Souylss seem to dive in while I'm getting in trouble, kill a bunch and then rtb after I've gotten myself killed :)

Once i learned the basics of flight and fight, the main thing that kept me hooked to the game was social aspect of it in the form of wingmen and formations. Some of things we experienced, i still laugh at to this day.
Here are a few examples.
Screaming in, like at 600 diving on some cons. After the pass still doing like 500
MiAMiACE: "Perdue is that smoke coming out of your engine?"
Perdue: " umm... $#$@# engine 2 is out...Should i go home? "
Just taking off in a couple La-7s on the deck doing like 300 side by side.
MiAMiACE: "Perdue watch out for the tank right in front of us."
I swerve a little, he continues to straight on
Perdue: "$#$!@ i just got killed by a tank while in fighter mode"
I also remember being in the middle of nowhere, by ourselves with never enough gas plus cons... and figuring out how to make it back home. No one was ever left behind. When you did get left behind you already knew it was your choice.
-
Was left behind many times in 163's. "Just one more." Remember the LA sortie? :
Miami: "dude, you cant bring him at a HO, u gotta do something"
Perdue: "Here goes" (pulls up into a loop)
Miami: "Oh My God dude" (explosion) "that was f%^*$#g sweet, we're low on fuel lets boogie"
Later that sortie we fought a few spits over the lake.
I learned how to play this game in those days.
