Title: Frame rate drop
Post by: Pigslilspaz on September 23, 2011, 02:07:14 AM
Started happening today, for some reason, that max frames I can get is ~28-30fps regardless of settings, did it at bottom of the barrel settings and the best I could set it at and no difference. Nothing has changed, today was the first day of this ever happening.  :headscratch:

Happens to me from time to time - I usually just run my CCleaner and a nice little reboot - then POOF! back to 48-60 fps

Hopefully your situation is a simple fix like mine is!

Windows is NOT static.  It changes all the time, without you having to do anything other than boot the computer.

Check the CPU usage, when nothing is running and see if it is above zero percent.  Go to the Windows Task Manager, under the processes tab to find the information.

If you've updated your drivers to 280.26 that may be your problem.  I've had nothing but trouble with the newest one.  Now Nvidia has released a Beta driver due the end of this month 280.27 Beta Driver 280.27 (http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=210084)
After quite a bit of research I rolled back to Driver 270.1.  I think Skuzzy's right on this one.  Newer is not always better.
