im lol'ing hard at that one whiny commenter saying the f22 has the worse cocpit ever and he's aloud to say this because he "helped design the f22" but he cant go into detail about the cocpit because its "classified".  :rofl

I'm sure it's actual top speed is classified. Cruise is Mach 1.6 though.

Real question is, how fast and how far can the missiles they fire actually hit.  Why is everyone making a big deal about the F22s maneuverability is a bit confusing to me.  If they get hit by anything they wont know if it was an other plane or a hot air balloon 100 miles out :lol.  Pilots and planes don;t matter much anymore.

The F-22's stealth capability is what sets it apart.

I am sure many of you know of the tests the AF runs. One F-22 versus 5 F-15's is one I have heard of. No contest. The F-22 kills most of them without being seen. Of course these are simulated missile shots and anything but the Sidewinder has yet to prove it's reliability, but seeing the enemy before he sees you is a huge advantage.

The F-35 is a dog. Any fighter currently in the inventory will eat it alive if it gets to a turning/energy fight.

no...its super expensive because of the materials needed to make it. the F-14 was cheaper than the F-22 and it still did freaking amazing.

(not to mention the F-14 is one of my favorite planes :neener:)
