My greatest vulch ever had to be my vulch of a Typhoon with the nose turret of a Lancaster. This was from way back before bombers had formations as an option. We were trying to do a late night capture and only had two fighters, a Lanc and a C-47 in on it. Because we were low on fighters I was trying to help keep enemy aircraft down by making passes with my Lancaster and as I approach a Typhoon spawns and starts is roll down the runway. I overtake him, slowly as Lanc's aren't fast, and blaze away with my two .303s as the autopilot flies me down the runway at about 100ft. He is trying to get out of my pinging my .303s are giving him and pulls up too hard, stalls it and cartwheels across the field to end his short run in a ball of fire.
We got the field.

Whenever I think of vulch I go back to the FSO where we were lucky enough to get 262s. After killing just one B-26 near their target, I decided they may try to re-arm and hit us again. I had a couple of bases to choose from that they may try to re-arm. I chose right. Coming in fast and low I caught the B-26s on the re-arm pads. In 2 passes 12 more were dead. My personal best in FSO. Given the tonnage, probably my personal best in any vulch. :)

I remember that, I was one of the B-26s that somehow managed to survive by hiding in the hangar. You killed my whole squad! :furious

High fighter over enemy hq/strats spoofing a bomber to induce 163s to launch and dodging 10 passes before the near compressibility dive chase to try to get them before they get to a field and land.

4 kills at the rearm pad in one pass, which surprised me since they were all together and I only saw one airplane.. it never cease to amaze me when people want to rearm on a capped field.

I got vulched 2 seconds upon taking off and on landing in a 262 if that counts :D.
The kill on take off was from another 262 that came in from the sun (No, it wasn't a frontline base).
The kill on landing was because I had a dead engine and was too slow to break out of the landing, the 190 came down from 15K up to vulch. :ahand

My greatest vulch was on Firebal's 190D9. After vulching my 109K4 a couple times I finally was able to get wheels up. He took one pass then booked it back to his base. I chased him by myself all the way back when he so much as did not even make an attempt to engage. I hovered over his base at 7k while he circled in his ack for 5-10 minutes while a friend came in to try to distract me. Avoided his friend enough to see he was going to land. I dove for his landing D9 directly at a 70-90 degree angle. I shot him to smithereens right before I augured through his debris going 500 mph. It was totally worth it.

Was on a bombing run on a rook base.
262 attempted to come up under me, shot his wing off before he got on my dead six.
Was dropping bombs on the enemy base, some of them went over the runway, Killed the same guy who was in the 262, as he was sitting on the runway in another 262.

My greatest vulch ever was in Air Warrior.
I was just starting a dive on an Az base in an A26 when suddenly a mission appeared and just started rolling down the runway of about 7 bombers and fighter escort. instead of hitting the base itself like I had planned. The opportinuty was just too ripe.
I laid all my eggs and guns on one pass killing them all in one pass.

I've run into missions upping and vulched all of them...
BUT
I would have to say the most SATISFYING vulch was ROCKET VULCHING a set of B29's and 2 sets of B17's... Just the B29's were enough but the 17's were a bonus...
AND for the record - I augured moments later because I was laughing SO HARD that I couldn't see or think!!!! :x :x :x :x

I was flying a D40 over to the south western port on Trinity. I do not remember who snuck it but we were trying to retake it. I got there as the vh stopped smoking so I held my eggs. The vh popped and I dove in. Needless to say that drop got me 13 kills and a vh. Only a whirble made it out and I still had 500 lbs for him. It was nice.

Flying an A20 trying to take a vbase on the Baltic map. All hangers down but one not smoking....hovering waiting. Main hanger pops dive in with 2 500lbs bombs. Didn't get the hanger obviously but did get a few kills...buffer says 16 but I had a few before that. I think it was 13 kills with those 2 bombs.

I have two:
I'm in a 38 at about 15k providing hi-cap over a recently taken base. All of a sudden, I see a tempest come screaming down from 25k to try and HO me. In one pass, he takes out my #2 engine and my right rudder, among a few guns as he runs away. I am furious, and I know I have no chance of pursuing this guy but luckily I found that at his current egress vector, I can cut the corner and head him off at his base. Sure enough, about 5 minutes later I find him taxiing to the rearm pad, I dive in and pop him with the 20mm. Soon after the pm's came streaming in :)
For my second, I was cruising in some 17s about 12k over a heavily contested base, well above most of the fighting. I was down to my last 500-lber with nothing really worth hitting. I decide I'll loop around and drop one on the runway, maybe I'll get lucky. So I drop from 12k, and sure enough just before impact, a b-25 spawned. It was a direct hit. What made it even more sweet was that the 25 was none other than my friend strokes :lol

About 6 months ago I was approaching some random field when a mission lifted. 15-20 heavy P-51Ds with two C-47s. I was in a Dora and decided to let them get some alt instead of vulching. I oiled a couple Ponies then killed both goons. Next time I'll vulch though until then 8I let this one slip through my fingers.

My best vulch.... I killed 21 Lancasters when I dropped a 500 kilogram bomb on a spawning bomber mission about 6 or 7 years ago.

Mine would have to be when I walked onto an enemy airfield and shot a ki84 in the cockpit a few times with .45 for the kill.

went on a boston porking sortie - ords at 2 small bases. by the time I got to the 2nd field ords were already down so figured I'd drop on troops at a vbase on the way home.
under the hood and I spot a 109 coming in to land with his brewster buddy, so guestimate the lead and bombs out at 19k:

two of us had de-acked a small field, and were playing. trying to see how long till one of the many wirbels would get one of us. i was makign passes straight down the runway, sometimes shooting, sometimes not.
i lined up on a bomber........was going for him. his drone lifted right into me. i ended up vulching myself that time. i couldn't stop laughing at that one.

Nobody deserves to land "kills in a 262 cleared out from a furball", ever.
Besides, everyone knows you must vulch a landing 262. The ensuing QQ's make for much hilarity.

Came upon a mission lifting when I was first playing, selected my single bomb (could have sworn I loaded one), lined it up, and promptly dropped my DT on them.

I sucked at vulching. I would either auger, get torn apart by ack, someone would kill the hangar, or someone would beat me to a vulch. But my favorite attempt at vulching would definitely bomb vulching in a single 234 at a busy base. Never had much success but the comments on 200 were priceless!
I don't remember who did it (and there are probably several people that have), but I recall a teammate sinking a CV right as a mission rolled on the deck.

I was flying a heavy P47 and saw a buff mission up and start rolling, and I dove in and dropped my bombs. Killed 9 B17s and 6 B24s

Morpheus and I chased pacerr's la7 for 10 mins, he thought he could land safe at a cv that had all it's ack up... We tag teamed him something fierce as his wheels came to a stop. Ch 200 never looked so good for the next 15 minutes.

In a scenario in Airwarrior (OZHost) I was mistakenly coming in to land at a captured field. On short final DocDoom spawned at the far end right in front of me. Gave him a face-full and took away his last life for the event, slammed up my gear and flaps and departed rapidly. Was probably just as much a shock for both of us.

The greatest Vulches are the ones where the bad guy runs from a fight and gets trashed on his cowardly runway.

Vulching DOOM at his base on takeoff, who usually spends his time vulching in his A8 and bragging that "nobody vulches me and lands it", and then landing it while he's chasing me the whole way trying with all his effort to then vulch me on landing -- only to fail. Many many many years ago, I was chasing dots over enemy territory suspecting they were a buff mission, in a 262. After I got to them and killed one of them, the gunner looked at my plane kind of funny and I got a PW and oil. I started heading back so I could maybe get a ditch and save some perks. As I am flying by the last enemy field a mission ups and these guys are waiting on the runway to get organized. You can imagine what happened with an almost full load of 30mms and a huge number of planes waiting on the runway :devil Never made it back though.

My most memorable "vulch" was after a horde mission captured one of our fields. I came down the runway behind the landing Lancs, Nikis, and 110s. Got 7 in one pass. I was laughing so hard I had to go land.

Just as we were decending into target, a mission of B17s and fighters spawned at the end of the runway, I went nuts on sqd vox yelling to drop our eggs on the mission, we did
I was first in and got around 12 kills, Tenn got around 10, we went vert and came back, got a few more with rockets, then tried to run our arses off home, They seemed very upset, we got hunted down

My fav vulch was long flight in b17 with 100 lbrs I lined up on a runway and as I let go a mission was getting ready to take off, 17 kills later i was trying to get the ooomph out of dodge when I was tagged teamed by 2 262's. I think they upped them to get retribution on me killing the mission. I wish I still had the film because of the PM's that were sent to me..
