HTC should start creating software for the quarter machines and have them in every mall arcade. Each physical machine should be set-up with an internet connection into an arcade server. This would create the biggest arcade draw since Pong.

Do people actually go to arcades still? Are there any left that still use quarters?
Can't see it flying. Insufficient eye candy coupled with a learning cliff that would turn people off.

Where did you get this 3000+ number?
I've been in the vending business for 30 years as a tech. We had hundreds of video games as well as pool tables, pinballs, and video poker. The gaming side of the business fell off the map years a go. People don't want to waste money on the games they can play at home.
Also for the full cabinet/game combo they ran between 5-8 grand each. The only one I ever saw that got close to 10k was "Talons" side-by-side helicopter game.

3000+ number is conservative when you add arcades from malls, bowling centers, cineplexes, theme parks, and any other place that keeps arcade machines.

You would be surprised. There are very few left. Most are just "token" arcades with a few "ticket" games for the little kids. My kids grew up playing pinball and video games. They would come to work with me on Saturdays and play for free in the shop all day. That is the first thing they look for when they go to a new place, and they are getting harder and harder to find. About the only place I find them any more are at beech side boardwalks and such. Even those are older machines from the 80's and early 90's. All the big companies stopped making games or sold out. I think there is only one major pinball company left, Sterns.

funny thing having this arcade thing pop up today. i was on my way home from dirt-biking and as i was going home on my bike i saw an old arcade. long gone but it still had some of the arcade games in it. i went over and saw that they had at least 40 different games inside there. man i'd kill to be able to play the pac-man game.

Is there a training mode? I won't spend more than $5.00 to purchase the perked 262, then cry for my mom and get a free sample and Orange Julias after I auger it 10 seconds into the flight.
