Post by: ghi on September 27, 2011, 12:56:25 PM

"The vast majority of the tremors have been recorded in the northwest of the 278.5-square-kilometre island at El Golfo, the location of a massive landslide that created a 100-metre high tsunami almost 50,000 years ago."

Look out East coast of USA.

Our east coast needs a good cleansing. Hopefully it will be large enough to cover D.C. too.

I know there was some concern about the neighboring island of La Palma collapsing and causing a tsunami threat to the eastern US.

I remember reading about this some time ago. It has been said it's inevitable only a question of when. I was in Tenerife for a holiday in June. The island has a volcano and parts of it look like what you'd imagine the world would look like post a nuclear attack.

Flying in over all the other islands you can see how volcanic it is.

But what caught my eye was the link of the end of the article called: How Prepared Is Ireland For A Tsunami?
The answer is not at all and there's me living 200 yards from the Atlantic ocean! So close that on stormy days the windows get covered in salt.

But I always wanted a boat and there a chance there'll be one in front yard some day.  :aok
