I've seen some great examples of bionics tattooed on people but this one cracked me up. Did you have a Six Million Dollar Man toy as a kid with the roll up rubber sleeve so you could see the bionics in his arm :)

:rofl When I was in living in Germany, this drunk dipstick insisted on getting a tattoo.
He was a friend of my ex-wifes uncle. A real dork. Was a bragger, done everything better than anyone,etc...
Since everyone else had tattoos, he decided that he had to have one.
So they took him to a tattoo shop, where he received a Washing Machine tattoo on his back :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

I assuming that you are referring to the redness and swelling? (as in after you have have your skin repeatedly pierced with a needle for an hour or so)
Perhaps it is the lack of hair, just around the tattoo sight but still present on the rest of the arm that is throwing you off?
I think INK of all folks would recognize a fresh tat when he sees one :D

Look at the black line around it. Doesn't it look kind of fuzzy/blurred?

Yes, but I honestly think it is just a really crappy piece. Most tattoo artists I have known or spoken to have told me that the outline is the hardest part of a tattoo sometimes and the easiest to mess up because it stands out like a sore thumb if not done correctly.
Just because one can draw or paint does not necessarily mean that they can use a tattoo gun.
Some folks should not pick up a tattoo gun at all...

that's definitely a real tatt...of course anything could be photoshopped perfectly but I doubt this pic was.
and for all you novices out there it is NOT a tattoo gun...it is a tattoo Machine :aok

the outline is blurred because the guy who did this piece went in way to deep, he pushed the ink into the fat layer, so the ink spreads out between the layers of fat .....and this is the results.
to do a tattoo properly you want to push the ink in around 2 mm deep....just scratching the permanent layer of skin....this will give the best results for longevity and a crisp clean line.
sad to say most don't understand that and go way to deep, this is why you see the old tattoo's that are all blurry and crappy looking.....yet I have tattoo's out there that look just as good today as they did 20 years ago, when I did it.
tattooing is a very difficult thing to do properly and takes many many years to get good at it, even with proper direction and teaching, now they have schools that teach you in just 6 weeks....what a load of crap...pisses me off tremendously.
and yes there are way to many people who are doing tattoo's that have zero business inking people...but when the business started picking up around 10-15 years ago many heard that you could make a hundred dollars an hour .....people came out of the wood work....that should never be tattooing.
very much ruined the world of tattooing.
many tatts need a think outline for the style of tatt
here is an example of a thinker outline needed for style of piece, this was done by just making the outline thinker without going to deep.

for realism you don't want to see on outline...incidentally a lot of tattooist think its imposable to do a tattoo with out a out line

here you can see the very light outline for the eel....when its all done you wont see a hard out line at all and it will have a nice realistic look to it.
this is a good example to of the difficulty in tattooing...look at the skin where the eel is done....very heavily stretch marked...and yet I was supposed to do clean work on it.... :rofl

Well, it could be my eyes, but I am talking about the image. Focus your eyes on the border and look at the image. To me it looks as if I see blurred pixels around the black line. Could be my eyes though. You have seen my aim :lol
no actually looking at it close I see what you are talking about...hmmm makes ya wonder....
no that's a real tat, look at the arm below the tat it is pixalated same as the tat....the whole tat is slightly pixalated and fuzzy.....so is the arm its on....no I would guess that's a real tat on that arm......
