Isn't it basically unflavored kool-aid? :rofl
-
Wow, you actually spent money on that?
Sugar water with red food coloring is much cheaper :D

you don't even need the food coloring

Hummingbirds are naturally attracted to the color red. That is the reason why most feeders and the liquid are red to begin with.

It was in my friends moms refrigerator. We decided the only reasonable thing to do was try some. It was good.

One of the symptoms of becoming a bird brain is the ingestion of stuff like hummingbird food........... It may be too late for you......

No wonder Hummingbirds seem so hyper... They're just sugared up!

Supply with Sudafed and observe results.

Yes but it can kill the birds your trying to feed if it goes bad, sugar water shouldnt be left out more than 12 hours or you risk causing the birds to die.
The water should be boiled and the feeder sterilized everytime you set it out.
I feed hummers, they nest around my yard every year, maybe it's something in the garden that attracts them.... I always use commercial hummingbud feed as it's the safest product for them and I take it down after 24 hours and make another batch and sterilize the feeder.

Need to put valium in it, then they will be like............whoa!
-
One quarter cup sugar, one cup hot tap water, stir until dissolved. Chill during hot weather. No boiling, no preservatives, no coloring. I change the water out when it gets cloudy, smells funny, or attracts too many insects. The birds all seem healthy, but don't get too close; they're like miniature meth-heads.

I was waiting in line at a home and garden store once, and the guy in front of me bought around $200 worth of that stuff.
-
Doesn't anti-freeze taste like Kool-aid :D
-
Depends on the flavor
Green - lime
Orange - orange

Nice!!!
They, hummers, can be quite aggressive and territorial. Last summer my wife and I watched a hummer take on a large bumblebee, now the bee was as big or bigger than the bird but the bird was the master of the BnZ attack and armed with it's .0030 mm beakcannon it was too much for the bee and drove it off! :joystick: :joystick:
It actually happened and was something to see! I was amazed to see the hummer actually use it's beak like a sword and whack the bee around!

They are pretty mean birds when they want to be :D
-
Damn things are amazing and definitely use that beak as a weapon. When they are looking for mates, they will fly chest to chest pushing each other. They will go up and down like this until one gives way. Their flying ability is amazing, unmatched only by their attitude. :D
They make small feeders that attach to a window with suction cups. These are a pain to keep filled but you get some great close up viewing. :aok

Just east of Laramie Peak , in Wyoming , in the middle of a mountain cattle ranch , is an old cabin built in the 1930's known as "Hubbards Cupboard" . It was a bar a dancehall in it's heyday . For whatever reason Hummingbirds are thick as flys there . Very cool little birds , and they are extremely aggressive . It's amazing to watch a bird that weighs no more than a few grams intimidate the hell out of a 250 lb grown man . :lol
