It's 1943, and the Royal Air Force and Luftwaffe are slugging it out for dominance over the English Channel.
Gone are the days of the Battle of Britain, with the RAF hanging on by a thread. The RAF is now stronger than ever and is taking the fight to the Luftwaffe. The Luftwaffe has built back up strongly on the Channel Front and is again hitting hard -- with raids to the English coast and airfields full of fighters eager for battle.
It is the Spitfires, Typhoons, Mosquitoes, and Mitchells of the RAF vs. the Bf 109's, FW 190's, and Ju 88's of the Luftwaffe in air-to-air combat, level bombing, dive bombing, escort, intercept, and anti-shipping attacks.
Please join us for this next stage in the classic battle between the RAF and the Luftwaffe.
Show-Up Time for this scenario is 3 pm Eastern Time in the Special Events II arena.
Nov 12: practice frame -- please all attend
Nov 19: frame 1 (two-week gap follows, skipping Thanksgiving weekend)
Dec 3: frame 2
Dec 10: frame 3
Dec 17: frame 4
Registration not yet open (but soon).
Rules writeup (not yet final version, though) is available at:

I am guessing CO's haven't been announced yet.

4440 is the LW CO. Thank you, 4440, for stepping forward, and a big <S> to you!

The decision was made to shoot low since turnout has been down. Easier to adjust up then down should the need arise.
-
I'd like to take a shot at GLing one of the 109 squads.

Somehow, this has to be a disparaging reference to Spitfires. ;)

Nah, I got married beginning of Sept and we did a pig roast, however, if there happens to be a Pig in a Spit, that would be tasty as well :D

I have no clue what you are talking about
-
And SGY is volunteering to assist me for that comment?
That wasn't mentioned when you were begging my wife to let me play.
-
What is thy bidding?
BK,
What he means by that is, "What would you like me to do?" Old English phrase, unknown to you young whippersnappers.
-
I will be there as a walkon, work and r/l flight training have taken priority lately.
-
What is thy bidding?
Has to be spoken in a Darth Vader voice for effect.

*anxiously awaiting registration*

I anticipate opening registration about 1.5 weeks from now (Friday after next).

I do get the feeling there is going to be a bit of a step back in time for this one, immersion wise anyway. If only I had my Spit XII! :)
I can handle cannon hits though :)

This should be a memorable event. :aok
It looks as if Zambelli will be flying with us. His Great Uncle Franz Zambelli flew with II/JG-11 during the period depected in this scenario.

Very cool. Back in Airwarrior we designed an Italy scenario so we could get our one and only real live WW2 pilot in it. The guys were lined up around the building to get to fly with him in P47s like he'd flown with the 350th FG during WW2 over Italy. Just to say you flew wing on a WW2 pilot was worth it.
I was in a Spit Vb for that one flying top cover. The AW Jug was a real dog. Poor Earl had disco problems too, but he did fly :)
The first Spit XII pilot I ever corresponded with is in the photo below of 91 Squadron Spring of 43. I got his letter on my wedding day and my wife will argue I was more excited about the letter :)
S/L H.D. Johnson who flew Vbs, XIIs, XIVs, IXs and 21s with 91 in combat. 2nd from the right in the flying boots front row.

Oh what the hell. I'll try to be there for every frame as long as I get to fly my beloved Spits. I don't even care which mark. BaldEagl + Spit = dead Jerrys.

OK..Brooke you have convinced me...
I will fly :) just need to find a slot.
-
Getting excited, started taking my lumps in the MA flying the G6 this week. Still can't figure out how to get a kill in a snapshot w/out the gondies, guess I need to work on my aim. :)
-
You'll get there, Soulyss.
Or you could fly 109A-5's with me. They have approximately one thousand guns sprouting from every surface of the airplane, and I hear that you just fly near an enemy and pull the trigger.

In the Ju-88 you can put concentrated fire on enemies below you, and carry more bombs ;)

Not that I know of, and I hope not. It's generally too risky to have terrain changes closer than about 6 months from the scenario.

greg,
Our previous team is mostly in B-25's. 4440 hijacked me to fly Ju-88's.
You'll have a great time on either side.
Glad to see you're back.

The Luftwaffe! Be a Knight of the Sky!
-
Dan I would like to fly with you and 91 squadron for this scenario. :salute
I've never really flown the spits and I've been broadening my AH horizons here lately, so I couldn't think of a better person to fly with while I spread aircraft parts across the English Channel.

Since you didn't choose Luftwaffe, and being a Knight of the Sky, I am now going to pout (and maybe make crabby, whiny noises and thrash my arms around -- I'm learning techniques from my one-year-old girls). :cry

SIK1, is for some reason, avoiding whatever side I'm on :headscratch:
:salute
BigRat
-
LOL BigRat, I had originally planned on going for a 109 spot, but then I realized I've never really flown spits, of any kind.
So I guess now's the time, and flying with Dan has to be exciting, I mean just dodging the parts he normally sheds has got to keep a guy on his toes. :salute
-
Sik, there is a secret to flying with Dan. You stay in front. He takes up the rear and get's shot, parts fly off, get sucked into the enemy intake manifold and they fall down to the ground.
You know he is a bullet magnet. You know he can't land a plane. Use the tools as they come to you! :D
-
Never know. I might be an absolute beast in a Spitfire :)
Nah... :aok

As my first post here,I would like to apply for flying duty with 609 Squadron on Typhoons. My squadron in a different game is 609 and I plan on creating that squadron here as well. I would like a posting to 609 for this event please.

You'll need to register for special events at www.ahevents.org (http://www.ahevents.org), then you will need to register for the scenario itself on that site. When you register for the event Request to Fly with Dantoo, he is the Group Leader for the 609 Squadron.
See you up there,

Central here. this 2pm CST and committing 2-3 hours is a killer. So involved in work that I missed it and totally forgot. Middle of a Saturday with lots of work to do around the house is a big problem.
