My mom has an electric hedge trimmer, so I'll hide in the bushes and jump out at people while swinging it wildly and cackling evilly.  I'll wear a Freddy mask and a white tank-top shirt that I'll douse in fake blood.

Cousins neighbors have been doing garage haunted houses for over 11 years, they live in one of those large multi purpose million dollar neighborhoods so the garages are pretty huge.

Me and my friend might throw something together but we still have time to think about it

I had my own zombie themed lawn haunt one year, unfortunately due to $$$ not this year. But im collaborating with another 20 year old local haunt and putting all my supplies into it. Were getting pretty good now and are beginning to invest in pneumatics.

I do a prank different prank every year and have never had the cops show up until last year. I put on my bib overall and a hockey mask and hit behind a big tree with a chainsaw (no chain of coarse). When the kids would stroll up I'd fire it up, yelling and running towards them. A kids mom peed her pants and called the cops. They got a good laugh out of it although they said I was done for the night. The mom wasn't so forgiving.

This year I'm thinking about hanging myself from the same tree, and coming to life when the poor victim walks by. Hopefully the pee pants mom won't show up again and call the law on me this time. But something tells me I won't be seeing her this year.  :t

Last Halloween I took my costume to work (restaurant). Nothing real fancy, just a black cape and a hood that also covered my face so I could see out, but nobody could see me. I stood near the door like a statue and said phrases like, "Welcome, Good morning/afternoon, Please come again" every time some one would pass by. Everyone thought I was an animatronic, until I finally pulled out my fake-blood soaked knife on this poor, poor little family, and growled, "COME AGAIN!!!"

I have another great idea for a prank, just make sure that the cops are okay with it.  It's called 'The Backyard Bazooka'.  You will need:

1 yard of 1/2" PVC pipe
A small drill bit and drill
A wooden dowel equal in diameter to the drill bit
100 grams of baking soda
500 milliliters of vinegar
1 quart plastic bag
Gorilla glue
A two liter soda bottle
Cardboard
Construction paper
Play-Doh
Food coloring (any color or colors, just make sure that you can see them through plastic)
2 screw-top bottle caps

Directions for building the launcher itself:
Step 1.) Slide the neck of the bottle onto the PVC pipe
Step 2.) Drill a hole through both layers using the drill and bit
Step 3.) Pull the bottle off, and then coat the end without the drilled hole with Gorilla Glue
Step 4.) Do the same with the first bottle cap, and then slam it onto the coated end of the PVC using a hammer

Directions for making ammunition:
Step 1.) Slide the neck of the bottle onto the PVC pipe
Step 2.) Fill the gaps with Play-Doh, and then drill through the neck of the bottle so that the hole in the bottle lines up with the hole in the PVC
Step 3.) Make a nose-cone from the construction paper, and then attach it with the Gorilla Glue
Step 4.) Make fins from the cardboard, and make sure that the direction each one points is offset 10o from the center line of the rocket to allow it to spin stabilize.  Also, make sure that each one is offset in the same direction.
Step 5.) Pour a few drops of food coloring onto the baking soda
Step 6.) Put the other 50 grams into the bottle (do not shake it!)
Step 7.) Put the 1 quart plastic bag in the bottle, but let its edges stick out over the neck
Step 8.) Pour the 500 milliliters of vinegar into the plastic bag
Step 9.) While keeping the edges of the bag over the neck of the bottle, screw on the bottle cap.  This will allow indefinite storage.
Step 10.) Allow the Play-Doh to harden

Directions for loading and firing:
Step 1.) Unscrew the bottle cap, and push the bag into the bottle without letting the bag spill its contents
Step 2.) Slide the PVC pipe into the neck of the bottle, and slide the wooden dowel through the holes
Step 3.) Make sure that the seal is tight, and then tip the entire assembly over.  If done correctly, the fluid in the bottle should turn the color of the food coloring.  This means that the launcher is 'hot'.
Step 4.) Shake the launcher as quickly and mightily as possible to mix the reactants
Step 5.) If all goes according to plan, the round should pressurize in approximately ten to fifteen seconds
Step 6.) Choose a target, then slide the wooden dowel out as quickly as possilble to allow the bottle to shoot off

This is a fearsome toy, and it will bring joy for years to come due to its simplicity, efficiacy and durability.

Goin' to get all three kids dressed up,then tell them they are grounded for the night for bad grades (one doesn't even go to school yet). Wait about a hour or so till after sundown then head out with them for some trick or treating.  :devil

Hope the tears don't ruin the face paints.  :rock :D

A few years ago I built a functional guillotine and was cutting apples, oranges, watermelons, and pumpkins till the neighbors said they were going to call the cops.

I had fake body parts throughout the yard and was wearing blood splattered lab coat and hospital pants.

With an 8 foot drop for the 2 foot wide, sharpened 1/4" aluminum blade cut on a 30 degree angle I have no doubt that it would have done some damage to a person.

The police did stop by the next day and asked me to disable it before someone got hurt.  I had to disassemble it anyhow to move it(yes it had a full 6 foot platform to lay on too), so I did.  I never did set it back up.

When I was a kick we made a small dummy dressed in one of those 5 dollar trickortreat costumes, took the neighbor kid's bike and set it up just off the white line, across the bridge and threw some candy around it. Just laying in the road. First person that came along was a woman bus driver. She practically locked em up and ran over to it. Swearing she threw the whole thing off the road. Today Id probably go to jail if I got caught.

I didnt.  :devil

Seems complicated, I read it, but I'm sure I could fasten something together that does that with pvc pipe and a Co2 cartridge converter and a valve, remember what may seem easy to you may not by others

I have nothing planned but this is the first year my two boys would really appreciate something. Being three and four years old. I'll have to think of something for them.  We might be at my Mom's house so we may visit her neighbours.

I might take them to see the local bonfire if there's one. There's a tradition of bonfires here in Ireland, to scare off the ghosts. But most are illegal so the authorties try break them up before they can be lit. They don't always succeed. The kids who start them store the stuff and only build the bonfire at the last minute before anyone can react. There'll be plenty of fireworks as well even though they are illegal too. Some Halloweens it seems like war has broken out with fires everywhere and contstant crack and thump of fireworks going off all over the place. :O

First off, I'll apologize on behalf of the group for not paying you enough attention.

So...   What you are suggesting the construction of a device that can launch a projectile, with force and unpredictable ballistics, around public citizens, on what is probably the most populated night for residential neighborhoods?
