2/04/2011 was national womens day.

The phrase in the OP comes from the show Dr. Who. I know wiki is not the best source but I found this:

The Silence is a fictional religious order or movement in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. The Silence operate on the belief that if "the oldest question in the universe" is asked, silence will fall across the universe.

Now I have no idea how the date and the phrase tie together but I don't watch the show either so there may be something I'm missing.

Edit:

fixed points in time can't be re-written.

Seems to be another quote from Dr. Who.

correctamundo.

the season finale is on right now. the dr dies. sort of. river re-writes the fixed point of his death, and time is dying.

i'm gonna need to watch this one again, as it's going off in a few different directions.

oh yea.....it's "silents" i think.  :aok

There is no such thing as a fixed point in space or time.  It's constantly changing.  Even with theortecial reverse time travel, you could end up at a point in your past, and automatically diverge into a new universe simply by being there, even if you lived in a hole the entire time and no one ever saw you...  which in fact isn't a point in the past at all, but a point in your future...  Yay multiverse!
