Great share, thanks.

Interesting to see the rest of it now.
Ju88 and Me108 in flight. AR234, V1, V2, Me163 and some egg beater on the line. A B32 on display along with the 17, 24 and 29. Couldn't tell if it was an A20 or A26 in flight. P38 on the line and an Oscar too I believe.
Noticeably absent was any 51 version.
Oh to be able to go back in time :)
-
I like the c47 low pass to hook the glider.....
Wonder what that felt like being inside the glider...especially if you weren't ready, when it got hooked.
-
Wow! That would have been the coolest airshow ever to see. Thanks for posting that! <S>

Junkers 290 "Alles Kaput",
Interesting story about this plane it was booby trapped with several pounds of explosive hidden in the wing by the Germans.
When it was finally scrapped & in the process of dismantling it they found the charge.

Why would they do such a thing? Kinda sad most of the amazing german tech was scrapped. Also I didn't see any 109s.
-
I don't see why they scrapped that stuff. Is it like someone said: "yeah, none of this will be historically important in 50 years. Crush it, Dave!"

Most likely.
Some one had to pay for the up keep & storage or do you sell it for a few bucks for scrap metal.
Scrap yard won that battle.

That one with the open cockpit was used on the U-Boats to get a better view of the horizon for spotting ships.
-
That helicopter in the film was Flettner FL 282 "Kolibri".
The one used with the U-boats is Focke-Angelis FA-330 below.

Saw it at Duxford in person. Certainly wouldn't like to be the pilot when the U-boat needs to dive fast...

Great video!

At garber, one of the guys was unbolting a bolt on the DO335 and asked for someone else to hold a wrench on the "other side" of the bolt because all were just turning around and around without loosening.
The other guy got access and said "dude, these bolts have wires coming out of them".
I was climbing the other side to put a wrench on the bolts on other side so he could zip them off faster with an impact and noticed the other guys were quickly walking away so I did the same.
The bolts were still wired in to the egress system.

Holy crap...great find Waffle and thanks for sharing this awesome amazing video..
Did you guys the copters..WOW

I'd imagine most folks at the time were thinking 'its over' and lets get on with our lives. You could ask that question regarding all kinds of stuff that we'd like to have had the chance to see. I've always wondered why at least one of the Pearl Harbor battleships wasn't saved. Consider they used Saratoga as a target. Talk about a historic carrier. Enterprise as well went to the scrap yard.
A lot of those birds did survive though.
-
:salute kool i wonder if all those folks where amazed at the aircraft there? i missed likly missed it, but what happened to those planes and things after the show?
-
A lot of the captured stuff is on display at Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum at Dulles Airport in Virginia. I have been ther 4 or 5 times, they also have a Space Shuttle and are soon to get a second one. So many things to see there.

Not sure how many guns were on the Me 262B-1 but the Me 262A-2a (bomber version) only had 2 30mm cannons.

I met a seafire pilot 10 or so years ago,
he said the saddest thing he saw was all the planes getting pushed over the side of the carrier when returning to UK
they where not allowed to take anything from them either, even the beautifully crafted watches that where in the cockpit he said ( I think he wanted one)...
such a shame

Edit: Great vid waffle <S> thanks

My bad, that's actually B-1a/U1, one of the four nightfighters (W.Nr 110306, FE-610), the only one that was brought to US. The removed radar aireal threw me off. It was also the only one of those four with MG151/20s as the lower cannons.
It is clearly a two seater and those are 20mm barrels sticking out. MK108 barrels don't portrude outside the fuselage.
-
Look at the faces of the people, because they had seen much of it before there not into it like we are.

Fantastic Find!! :aok
