Title: 262's
Post by: lukedog on October 06, 2011, 08:19:12 PM
the 262 was the worst thing that was putt on this last map.. it has no place in being there.. if you want more people to use  A vs A you need to think a little harder cause that's all its done is ruin this map! all most want to do is up a 262 and voulch people on the runway over and over and over.  :furious most things in this game are great butt this A vs A is turning into the worst!!

262's are bad enough in the MA's at least each side has a choice of using them, lopsided affair and not real equal.

I agree that it shouldn't have been there. In the Luftwaffe's defense, the 262 was an Axis only ride so you cant fault the CM's. If you're an Allied twit, not much you can do but  :cry. I for one didnt fly them cuz furballing with a 109 is much more fun.

"The Luftwaffe threw just about everything they had at us to try to stop our bombing of their advancing troops. The Bf 109s and Fw 190s raced through our formations with their cannons blasting away at our planes, and the Me 262 was pressed into action as a defender, even though Hitler thought it should be used as a bomber."

German Aircraft

German forces relied heavily on air support during the Battle of the Bulge, committing 2,400 planes to the effort. Among the German planes were the Heinkel He 111, which was a heavily armed bomber loaded with up to seven machine guns. The Germans also relied on ME-262 jet fighters, which were so fast that it was almost impossible for the Allies to defeat them in the air.

...so...that article was written by Ernst Heinkel....?

there's plenty you can go against a 262. you just gotta get em slow first.

irishone, have you been in the AVA lately? the jets were in there only 1 day. you might want to actually go in and try it out before forming an opinion based on 1 or 2 guys opinions, who most of the time, dont fly in there anyway.

as for vulching, it happens, nothing you can do about it, but try flying from a different base. that setup was so big, there was no reason to keep trying to take off from the same field. all fields were within a 3 minute flight of each other and the 262's were only at air bases. with only 10 guys in there, id be hard pressed to think you couldn't avoid a 262 on take off, based on the number of bases in there.

if you're basing your opinion on what you're reading, instead of trying to experience something and see for yourself, then you're missing alot. have fun.

before you posted i changed mine to nm  :aok       i don't fly there enough to complain about it, and for good reason.      i modified my response because it doesn't matter.    have a good one  :salute

i clearly stated that i had been flying there, and clearly stated what happened, and gave names.    wasn't basing what i said off of what i had read.    so yes, i tried to experience it myself.  i'm a little peeved at that response.   you imply that i'm here to complain about it just for the sake of complaining.   anyways, have fun with AvA.   no need to respond to this, i'm done.

well come in and check it out anyway, when you get a chance, midway is running now, so theres no worry of jets. its a fun setup with carriers and blue planes and IJN planes. give it a shot!

Funny as hell though.

I think its nice to have jets once in awhile. . .its very rare to begin with.

You can vulch in anything fast. . .and most german planes are fast.

Next time 262's are in an AvA scenario, how about enabling them only at the farthest bases from the frontlines, and only allowing them 25%fuel.

Make it so they can only fly the front lines for 10-15 mins before having to RTB for fuel.

could be the closest thing we get to perk restrictions in the AvA.

There are some things that can be done, however limiting fuel for a plane isn't one, other than disabling drop tanks which the 262 doesn't have. We can however, limit a base to 75% fuel and adjust the fuel burn rate to effect a limiting combination.
