Awnser the question, the reason I've been playing all these years is first of. This is the largest flight/battle simulator of WW2 combat I've ever seen. Two, World at War mutiplayer is always hacked. Three it actually takes skill to play this game unline the MLG Pro guys on PS3 and XBOX360 espically if there playing WaW if you catch what I'm saying.
ACESHIGH RULES!!!!
Had a little to much sugar this morning.(TWUMMY ACHE :frown:)

Being in the cock-pit is enjoyable.

It is a stress relief from dealing with real life... plus I can kill people and not get arrested for it...
Plus I have learned ... Pigs DO Fly..

all these years?
At this point in my life, I can probably count more friends online in this game than I know in RL. Have met quite a few over the years, between here and AW
-
I don't know honestly. I don't fly enough any more to make the monthly fee worth it, but at the same time I don't want to leave. Though now that many of my old friends rarely log in, I'm starting to lose desire again.
-
Squad nights
FSO's
The occasionally foray into the MA
But most importantly
The people.
90+% are really good people that I've learned a lot from
-
Because I hope that someday other people will want to play the " game" again.
-
Squadies
FSO
AvA
and I enjoy helping new players on the help text channel

AH is not as much fun as it was. Not because of the game but because after many years, it's all routine now. Still beats watching tv.
-
moin
im here since 2001 and i still love it, sure a few thinks changed i do not like but thats normal.
i love to fly with you guys in big missions and i love to engage large missions with my wingman, no other game can give you the experince to attack a real big bomberstreem with real pilots at the stick.
As a child i dremead about to have a own 109 to fly, this dream get lost about the reality but here i can fly all day my 109 in blue skiys :-).
have a nice day

Well I've been running away but Mama won't let me cross the street.
-
It's cheeper than crack, but just as :x
-
i'm playing less and only thing keeping me here is flying with my squad other than that i'm about done.
-
After the way I've flown the last two weeks....I have NO idea.
-
I don't know really. I guess it's because I love WW2 era aircraft and dogfighting. I've found no other place where I could hop in my chair and pretend I'm Dick Bong or Robin Olds and go blow stuff up while flying along side people from all over the world. The first time I ever logged into the main arena I heard two German guys talking to each other on range, I was hooked from that moment on.
The level of competition and game detail are great but I do wish there was more of a strategic aspect or historical goals to achieve in the game. The game does have some things I don't care for, but that's a whole different thread.
:salute
-
looking to top that last great fight....just one more, just one more..... :O
-
It is fun.
-
it gives me a reason, to go in my computer room, shut the door and NOT talk to my wife!

Wow....you have a whole ROOM?
-
I don't play Aces High.
Aces High plays me.
-
Wish I had time to devote to AH again. I love the living history it represents & the comradery it promotes. I've learned more about WW2 aviation because this game inspired me to read more about different aspects of it- particularly heavy bombers.
-
My 39 & A20 need me.
When i start getting paid well enough again, i will be back. :rock :salute

Why do you keep playing Aceshigh?..................... I'm starting to rethink it.
I loved flying with the Aces & 8's. What a great team oriented squad that was. Teamwork, Honor and Respect were our motto and we stuck to it. I really miss hanging out with a bunch of guys who liked working together but most of all got the job done 80% of the time. We stuck to a plan and rarely gave up. Unless a V base, NOE was not normally our style. We challenged ourselves and enjoyed meeting and working with other squads.
-
I am CO of a great squad. I like the MA trash talk. I love killing enemies. But none of these keep me in the game. Not even my squaddies. What keeps me going is events, FSO in particular. If it were not for me being involved authoritatively with FSO I would not be playing AH.

This is the "game" that is missing. Too much emphasis on "capturing the base" and not enough on how its done.

It's fun.

Adrenaline rush..... :rock

i keep playing because it sucks and because of tator shots. toodles :neener:

I'm clean for over a month now :old:
I mentioned to a squaddie that I hadn't seen ya around in a while... Are you in rehab? Quitting is for quitters.
-
dont know about the game itself. it's cool and everything, but the reason I stay is the players. squadies are great, lots of fun. some other players are also very cool to fly with or against. I dont think it's the game itself that makes us stay, it's the players that make it fun. I mean there's some that arent so cool but most are just a great bunch. drink a couple of beer, have some great company, that makes me want to stay :salute.

You are closer to the truth than you may think :noid
I still have my account open, but I'm very reluctant to return right now. Haven't made my mind (or whatever is left of it) up yet. :old:
The odd thing is, I had no problems cancelling my account in the past when taking a break. Don't care for the perks and I'm very tight on the money. But this time.... dunno :uhoh

I keep playing because chicks dig pilots. Case in point, I've been trying to get with this hot girl I met at a sales convention so I told her I'm a pilot. She was impressed and is considering dumping her boyfriend for me. Only problem is she wants me to take her up for a ride. Now what do I do?

oh the places my nasty old mind could go with that idea... :devil
-
I keep playing cause the fundimentals of the game are rock solid, the challenge comes 100% from the other players. The game allows squads to function well, and allows single players to have fun too. Once and a while I feel like playing with a squad and it is only a matter of asking, never been told to F off. Most of all playing here is great value for 15 a month. Oh yea I like like flying for the Knits, cause they put out on the first date!!!

It's the most realistic simulator that costs under a million dollars.
-
Because its at the point on the annoying scale where you just keep coming back, hoping that you can do better. or in better words:addicting :x
-
I fly the game because of my squadmates. When LD ends, I will probably seek another game. Besides that, learning new planes - flying planes because they are hard to use or because I've never used them.

I flew the Swedish JA37 simulator 2 weeks ago, formerly used by Swedish Air Force.
I did quite good, considering you only saw front view, and no G-forces, managed to land twice out of 3 , with full monty realism.
a good pic of the JA37 below :

tell her you are only VFR rated and hope for a month of storms, 'cause otherwise you are f***ed on getting her to "share a bed" with you. :rofl

I love planes especially WW2 planes and this is the perfect game for me to play when I'm in the mood. And it has offline missions so I don't have to waste 50 BUCKS on some budget game. This GAME IS AWESOME.
<jam>

You never know who you're going to fight

Because of awesome pilots like my FPHs that I enjoy losing to.
Losing in Aces High is much more fun than winning. :old:

lol ditto! But I'm still having fun.
To tell the truth, I'm back after about four years away, and trying to regain some lost skills.
It's like my skating... I see the play, and the mind knows what to do, but the body don't do it anymore.
I'm hoping that I'll find a home with some buddies, like the old days with the Texas Rattlesnakes back in WB days.

i play here because it's safer then going out to a bar---i can't get into trouble here,it saves me money--i get to meet people from all over the world--or at least talk to them.meet people who was and still are in the military.i aaplaude there service and their willingness to put there lives on the line for us...feel the same way about law enforcement officers..and once in awhile get to talk to the ladies in the game.it helps me relax at the end of a stressful day, which is 5 days a week..like someone said i can quit when i want-people are always saying this game has gone downhill--i don't see it.what would they be doing if this game went away.just think for a minute--if it did..i think you would feel an emptyness--like if your best friend moved away...i didna get to play 2 weeks in a roll last year(hospital) and thats how i felt. shoot i miss my fellow squaddies that don't play anymore...i think you all would miss this game and all the people in it..even WHO/MIDWAY...even the people you cuss at ..call names--get in verbal fights with....even though we are all in different ingame countries--bishops--rooks--knights---and real countries around the world---we are all friends here. if someone attacks our game we will attack back...i love this game and i like the people that play ito answer the main question--it's the best game out there--and has thebest people in it.if you all think this is just mush,so be it. :salute

The abuse is second to none.
It's a lot of fun to play as well.
It offers a high level of maturity compared to other video games.
my haiku's suck.
