Had a girl......7lb 13oz 21" long. Named her Jennifer Anne
Im so freakin happy! Our first child, and a girl at that. Girls arent very common in the family. Only 7 hours of sleep in 36, coffee is the greatest stuff ever :D
On a side note, spent a day and a half trying to figure out why the internal wireless adaptor didnt work and going through about all wireless drivers for a PCMCIA wireless card that I have had for years. Turns out they dont work when the little button that says "turn wireless on" is turned off on front of the laptop :o

You will do just fine.
Always pay a lot of attention for the infants head & neck!
Remember to hold her warmly, firmly, calmly and talk to her nicely. Always.
Even when it's a 02:41am and your a 46hours lack of sleep :aok

Congratulations!
Kids can be a handful, but they are very impressionable, even in the teenage years. Just a few misplaced words can leave them with a powerful impression. It happened to me, and I was left with bigotry toward the mentally ill that did not become manifest until last year. A stern talking to from one of my cross-country teammates knocked that out of my system.
From what I've read, you'll be sleepless for about a few months. Then, relative peace for a year and a half, after which the Terrible Twos set in. At this point they will know how to walk and talk, and will use both to the fullest. Once you teach them to respect others, (remember, respect, not fear) you'll enjoy another 7-9 years of peace and harmony. At that point puberty sets in, and all bets are off.
Enjoy your time together, and remember, you only get one chance at it.

WELL? Let's see pictures of the little sausage! :devil
Congrats man! :aok

Congrats! :aok
Hold/rub her little hands/feet all the time ... my little guy loves to hold hands and kicks back now and loves a little foot rub while chillin' before bed (going to be three in February). One of the best things we made sure we did when he was a newborn.
Post pics when you can and enjoy the ice cream ... in no time you'll be working those few extra pounds off! :D

wonderful!! :aok :aok

I will never understand why everyone says to prepare for no sleep. Our kids each spent the first night home in our room and from then on they slept in their own rooms. Except for an occasional diaper change they both slept 8+ hours straight every night.

I hear ya, now is when I'm not sleeping well. :furious

:salute ink you have 9 kids? wow
thanx
I brought 9 into the world...raising 6 of those with my wife, who is the mother of those 6....had one when I was 17 before I got locked up, met her when she was 4...(4 days after I got out)
I have a son from my first wife, that marriage lasted 2 months when I was 23(right after I got out of prison) while that was going on a woman down the road wanted to have my baby, I said cool, she was born a couple months before my son, I saw her a couple times but the mother would not let me have anything to do with her as long as I was with my current girlfriend(who is my wife to this day)
I finally met my daughter from that woman about two years ago, they told her, her dad died when she was 10...I showed up at her house, two weeks(i was driving by her house every day for a year and did not know it) before she turned 16,I obviously told her the truth, but sadly she wants nothing to do with me, does not care that she has all these brothers and sisters, very crappy situation, I just hope one day she changes her mind and wants to get to know us.

So she's @ 18 now, give it a few more years. Our adopted out daughter decided to find us when she was 22.

Because if she was in a bucket, the nurses wouldn't be able to see what's going on inside.
The top is not sealed.
Use. Google.
IT'S NOT THAT HARD.

Ah, I think I've seen that in a movie somewhere. Except there were rows upon rows of those glass beds, and the babies talked to each other (not in a creepy way, it was like those e-trade commercials).
