Title: He-162 and Meteor request
Post by: macrossMX on October 13, 2011, 09:22:12 PM
sorry macrossmx, you still don't get a cookie...necro bumping anything older than 6 months gets it skuzzy locked.

i'm sorry but you do not get any rewards for necro posting on 5 year old discussions...  :lol

Considering what Gyrene said, I think it would be better for me to just start a new post on this wishlist.
It does not matter which jet we will get in the future, but the 162 and Meteor would be a nice addition.
I'll let the people vote on which jet they want to add in the future.
The He-162, the German jet equivalent of the timber terror
or the Gloster Meteor, The first operational jet for the allies

I would go for the Meteor just because this and the Me-262 both entered service at the same year.
It would be great to see a dogfight between the world's first generation jets duke it out :rock.

gyrene was wrong, there is NOTHING wrong with replying to an old post just so as long as it contributory to the thread.

FYI it was 3 years old.

:neener:  no only is flipperk wrong about replying to an ancient discussion but he can't count.  :neener:  the gloster meteor discussion was started in 2006, the last reply prior to macrossmx posting was in 2006, this is 2011...

Macross the wishlist is simply a place to request new features including aircraft for Aces High. It's not a poll and it makes no difference what other people post after you post your wish.

Just about every aircraft that flew in WW2 that's not already in Aces High has already been requested. There is no point in repeating a request. It also seems that some people, I don't mean you,  don't realize that HTC already is aware of every aircraft model that flew in WW2.

Occasionally when HTC is considering which aircraft to add next they will post a poll for the players which will pop up when you enter the game.

opinions change over a 3 year period.  you can go back a couple of years and quote me saying ponies suck, and yet I fly them today even though I still think they suck.

The actual forum description is "Requests for new features."  All of the multiple requests for the same new aircraft are basically a waste of time exceeded only by all the people giving + and - posts.

Discussions of new feature requests can be very productive but the real issue is whether the idea will improve Aces High and if it's possible or practical. Popularity among the compulsive posters is not required. Hitech has posted that he already has a long list of features he'd like to add and the list is sorted by importance and ease of implementation.

I'm not saying that you shouldn't make pointless posts. I was just pointing out, in answer to a question, that it's unlikely to have the desired effect.  :D

Where do you get this idea that they have decided not to add a particular aircraft in the future? You imagine that they made decisions they haven't made. You imagine people are worried when they're not, and you seem to imagine that you're being clever when you're not. Feel free to post nonsense but don't expect anybody to take you seriously.

Not that I wanted to make this post feel like it.
But if that is the case, then I seriously apologize for posting this in the first place.
Hope I'm not offending anyone by making such a selfish request. :salute

Macross when people quote somebody in their response it's to indicate that the response is for that person specifically. My response to bortas had nothing to do with anything you posted. The only response I made to your post was this:

Please post any ideas you have to improve Aces High. Just keep in mind that the crew at HTC have been doing this for 20+ years. They haven't run out of ideas, they just don't have time to do everything right away.

I'm not being a critic but, why do we need more jets? We've got two, the Me 262 and the Me-163. We don't need to complete jets at the moments.

What we need to do is finish off the Early War and work our way up to jets, we don't need to randomly select. I know something are needed to balance the game, but it's already somewhat balanced. Just up something equal to it.

Me-163 is a rocket not a jet.

Meteor definitely.  Ticks all the boxes.  The only argument against it is that it didn't score an A2A victory - but that was down to the Luftwaffe not being around and not the aircraft's fault.  I think it would be a less effective but more noob friendly version of the 262.

The 162's supposed combat record is a bit sketchy.  Would still like to see it as a perk ride for a bit more variety.

Both are certainly more interesting than a new P-40 ;)
