Title: Signing Off
Post by: Penguin on October 17, 2011, 06:00:36 PM
Dear Forum,

I've loved being here, but I spend so much time on this forum that it is lowering my grades.  As such, I'll be signing off until I've got some better discipline, or get accepted into college, whichever comes first.  This BBS is amazing, and my favorite parts here were debating you guys, sharpening my thinking, and learning how to present a point without sounding like a numpty (for the most part ).  In addition, many of the threads here were hilarious, and I wish that I could spend more time here.  However, duty calls, and my 3.2 GPA is nothing to be pround of- school comes first.

I'll keep this thread and the AH2 forums bookmarked, right next to Google, I'll never forget this place.  I'll be back one day, when my discipline improves.

-Penguin

You're

... But I commend your effort.

My favorite part is how that is not correct grammar.

Getting in and getting in for free are two totally different things...  You throw enough money at a school they'll let you in no matter what your grades are!

Ok so just so we are clear it is the time you spend on the forum and not puberty that is causing your grades to not be the best they can be?

WTG Eskimo... I'm going to laugh whenever I see you attempt to correct soneone else's grammar/spelling.

:salute Penguin... I could never do that. Even now, as I try desperately to raise my math mark, I still come here.

Best of luck, sir.

Might be the lack of sleep thing that he was talking about? You know, the very problem that was brought up in another thread about how kids rather play then sleep?

So does your grammar teacher feed you a doggy treat for every misspelled word you correct on the internet?

I laugh because none of you understand the difference between grammar and informal typing.

I also laugh because none of you realize that, as the saying goes, 'any publicity is good publicity'.

Well, duh.

I also get +10% for every one of your fully corrected posts I turn in.

I fully realize the difference between informal typing and poor grammar, but it's the internet. Why bother, other than for self-esteem issues?

Penguin, you're a good kid. Hope to see you back, probably at winter's break. Remember that there also is a game here to waste your time as well. And don't mind eskimo, he is like the 2nd coming of Nem, but at least Nem said something useful once in a while.

He claims to be older than 15, yet types as I did when I was nine or ten.

It's known that participation in most online forums makes you stupider, and you miss out on real life ever second you spend online.

Enjoy your time away from the dumbness.  Srsly.  RoFloL.
