WOW! Building code violation in a nut shell.
-
what a cobble job, lol.

Of course electricians will point out that this is why you should never do anything yourself.
Not true, you just have to not be a friggin idiot.
-
can I laugh? :O
-
Wow I'd thought I'd seen some bad workmanship but this takes the cake.
:salute

I can't say where I managed, but I used to run an electronics store (where the colors are black and red) and I remember pulling up the storefront's basedecks and finding no less than 15 surge protectors daisy chained together

:rofl :rofl :rofl
I've seen some really bad stuff having worked for an electrician for awhile but that takes the cake. Absolutely hilarious the lengths people will go to to keep from doing something the right way because it would be to much work. Nah let's just slap this onto the fence and run it to a light socket and splice it all together :bhead

I was expecting it to go into the neighbors house.

Me to :rofl :devil

Same Devil, would be hillarious to hear "and then..... wait, is it really going into the neighbors house? wow, thats just.... wow".

Looks like they swung by the liquor store on the way back from Home Depot.

The house i live in has some problems with it.
They spaced their studs in the garage only 6 inches apart instead of 12. we even found 2 that were only spaced 3 inches apart.
Plus the underground cords for internet/etc. Instead of running them straight from the power station on the other side of the street, to the power box on the side of my house, they ran them ALLL the way AROUND the other side of my house, and THEN to the power box. :furious

in a rather disturbing way, that is actually pretty funny.

hmmm,reminds me of my computer

With "Skuzzy" in the title, I thought somehow the garage door was going to be actuated from a workstation in the basement.

hmmm,reminds me of my computer
The closest plug to my computer desk is about 10ft away. Not to bad but there's a door between the plug and my desk so the extension cord goes up over the door and down into a a 3 plug splitter where my computer, monitor, and speakers are plugged in to. Not the best setup but it works!
-
But does it work?! lol
-
Its people like this that keep me employed :aok

Those aren't problems! Studs are usually 16 inches on center so every 12 or even 6 inches just means it's over built not a problem. As far a routing the power around the house, well without seeing the location,I'd say it was done to make branching to the next building or house easier and again this isnt a problem.
I guess you think these are problems but trust me they arent and if anything they might improve your house and allow you to dig almost anywhere without catching an underground cable...... remember always call before you dig!
Had my phone and cable cut many time when the did street repairs,my fiber cable was chewed up so bad I had them run a cable from the branch direct to my house!! told them I did business on the web and they'd be responsible for any loss of income..... not true but it worked!!! :devil
YMMV.
