honey bees dont want to sting you - the sting is barbed so it rips their guts out and kills em. wasps dont seem to care either way. learn the difference - one is our friend and the other is not :)

Yellowjackets suck (and hurt)

Little suckers are the worst, the pain lasts much longer than anything else that stings you. Usually multiple stings and I have run from many of the little %@*&%#! Good luck

Real men keep yellow jackets as pets in the home.  They like to sit in your lap and be stroked.

Yellowjackets are my favorites.  They love picnics because they eat meat, and when they are REALLY angry they take a big bite to hold on tight, and then sting multiple times in a circle around the bite.  The grip from the bite makes it so you can't just brush them off, you have to grab and pinch off each one of the suckers one at a time.  Good times.

My little brother slipped on a log while we were out camping in California, and his foot kicked a yellowjacket nest under the log.  He sat there on the log screaming as the wasps swarmed him.  Up his pants legs, in his mouth, up both sleeves, up and down his shirt, down his pants, in his hair and ears, everywhere.

Stupid me ran into the swarm to yank him out of there 'cause he was only 6 yrs old.  Of course I was only 8 so I didn't really think it through any farther than "Hey he probably needs help getting off of that log."  Amazingly, I got only one bite and zero stings.  My bro took about 20 full force stings including 2 inside his mouth.  Yaaay benadryl, we didn't even have to go home because the swelling went right down as soon as the benadryl hit his system.  Good stuff to keep in the picnic basket and in yer camping kit...

Scorpions around here are about as dangerous as bees, except you don't usually find bees stupid enough to sit in the middle of the bathroom floor at midnight right when the wife gets up for a glass of water.  Stupid scorpions, it's almost like they WANT to get stepped on.

Red wasp to the lower lip a couple of years ago.  I sounded like mushmouth for a couple of hours.  Other than a bee sting when I was a kid that is all.  Been swarmed pretty bad by fire ants though that is a pain that keeps giving.

I'm slightly allergic to yellow jacket venom, thankfully I haven't been stung in years. Unfortunately, the things have wrecked me mentally in the fear department, I freak the hell out whenever I see any sort of stinging bug. Worst part is, hypodermic needles feel the exact same way, I get nervous to the point of throwing up in the waiting room whenever I need to get a shot for something.

Found one in my bed when I was 16.  They also don't appreciate being rolled over on.  I got to stand for my classes that day.

Yellow Jackets are nasty little bugers.  My favorite tactis used to be to burn them out at night with some gasoline down the nest.  They got smart and built their nest next to my gas line this year :headscratch:.  Had to go and buy some foaming wasp killer, not as fun but it worked.  If you want some real fun, Paper wasps and paintball guns go great together for some fun.  Neighbors thought I was nuts, until they saw how effective it was :lol
