Was wondering if anyone knows of a decent free video editing software?
Thanks!

Sony Vegas comes with a 30 day fully-functional trial. If the reason you want it free is because you only will do something once, then its a pretty good way to go. I found most of the commands intuitive and it also comes with pretty good built-in help.
And oh by the way, I'm a Sony-hater, but I make an exception for Vegas, its the only Sony product that I recommend.

I have used up the sony trial and I am contiplating buying, its $50. Not very expensive but not sure if its worth it if i can use something thats free.
Thanks everyone for the responses!

I used windows movie maker. it's good, but using sony vegas is so much easier, of course after you spend the hours learning to use it :).

I think that's a good price as long as it's not a 1-year expiration lease or something.
Adobe pretty much let PC editing rot (let's not get into Premiere Pro!). Had they released FCP for the PC, Sony Vegas would never have had a market. However, despite being around only because there was nothing better, Sony has done a very good job of it. Vegas is nearly every bit as capable as FCP. I haven't heard of one area where FCP could do something that Vegas could not.
It's also native to the PC!
