Title: Weather Help
Post by: chaser on October 30, 2011, 12:13:08 PM
Hey guys I'm looking for some good books or websites to go to that I can learn more about the weather. I've always been fascinated by it, especially storms. I've read several books and been on many websites and I have a pretty good understanding of how things work, way more than the average person for sure. I'm looking for more advanced learning but I will read just about anything I can learn more from. I think it would be cool to go through some college meteorology books if I could get some. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

The best thing to do is go to your local library and see what they have.  Problem with the internet is that if you don't type the right key words, your search is hard.  I would visit sites like noaa and you might want to look up the severe storm laboratory, I think they are in Oklahoma, it's been a while since I searched for info because I started my interest in it long ago.

Since you are here, I would guess you have an interest in aviation.

Why not combine two things that interest you in one book.

Check to see if there is a university in the area that has a major in meteorology. Give them a shout and ask what books they might recommend for folks interested in the field.
