Considering a change of the GameID for me. I have had Reschke or some variant of that in the game since coming over from FA way back in 2000/2001. Other than loosing perks...which I can care less about even if I had a bunch. Is there anything else I need to do?

The name is reset and I think squad affilliation and whatnot are also reset.
Mostly just the perks, though. Perks, score, all the stuff going off or recorded stats are reset.

No. You realize you wouldn't have a Luftwaffe Ace's name anymore though right? I wouldn't do it.

Yeah I know Perdue....I have used it for a long time and think someone who flies in leather thongs could be more useful to it than I could. In fact that is what I started out as in here was a leather thong dweeb way back when those of us who were LJK came over from FA flying our Me-109's and Fw-190's.
Besides I am not the CO of VF-17 anymore...haven't been for years and my name is just that...an ingame name that needs to retire to start over with something new. Thinking about Buckshot since my plane number in VF-17 is 00.

Meh... regardless of the WHY you chose the name originally, you still chose it, and have stuck with it for so long. That handle is part of you, IMO. It's no longer about flying LW planes, but unless you have an honest aversion to the name, I don't see a reason to change it.
You can drop out of a squad, change your avatar, etc... No need to change the name.

Sometimes its just time for a change. Yes I have used that name for a long time but so what its just a name. Time to shelve it and move on to something else in my opinion. Plus the women weren't all that great using a luftwabble name; brunhilde and the others fraus just weren't as easy on the eyes as Ann Sheridan, Audrey Hepburn, Gene Tierney, Susan Heyward, et al...
