Here are some crappy photos from my mediocre canon point and shoot kind of camera.  I took these last year at the 2011 JSOH at Andrews Airforce Base in Maryland.

The view from the B29 pilot seats' appears very much like that of the Millennium Falcon.

Way cool.   :aok :aok

I believe that is part of the mechanism for opening and closing the bomb bay.  Not 100% sure as I took it a while back.

Hey Currey.. did they still have the plastic vomit in the plane?

I'm quite surprised at the state of the corrosion beginning on that airframe. Quite a bit of bubbling/peeling paint, possibly some rust starting, especially the tunnel exterior and the interior dome picture. I would have thought as the ONLY surviving B-29 capable of flying they'd try to keep it in better shape.

P.S. No wheeled cart and cable for pulling yourself along the tunnel?

Thank you Krusty I was waiting for someone to say something about that picture.  Inside the bomb bay there were many places with corrosion and paint chipping off becuase of it.  It really doesn't seem like a safe aircraft.  That window picture is really quite gross.

Well, they shouldn't be flying it if they can't afford the upkeep!

It's much easier to maintain a static display, if money is the only concern.

I'm perfectly capable of noticing the fine shape and lines of a B-29, but consider this is one of the largest WW2 planes ever flown being flown today, in modern times, with lots of corrosion starting to show on the interior... Doesn't that make you pause and worry about how much corrosion it takes before something fails and we get a horrific crash, or something?
