WOW i'm surprised they didn't foam the runway down before hand. Kudos to the pilot.

Live television footage showed the Boeing craft landing on its belly, with a few sparks flying as it hit the runway covered with flame retardant foam. There was no blaze but firefighters hosed the plane with water and foam as a precautionary measure.

pfffffffffft lost count the number of times I've done that in AH :bolt:

Nice landing
-
saw it on the bbc earlier, and Ive had much bumpier landings on charter flights - top work by the pilot I reckon :aok
-
I remember reading an article in Pilot Magazine that was critical of using foam on a runway.
Boeing manages to be noncommital and says a big NO at some applications.

I'd tip my hat to the pilots who managed this, but i have neither hat or a way to contact these fine people. :salute :aok

Only an experienced HTC gamer could have landed a real plane that well. :rofl

The best part of the video is watching the crash/rescue crews playing with the foam sprays :) They're just waving them around in some cases, trying not to knock the passengers off of the exit slides and stairs. Right at the end, one just shoots almost straight up, just splattering foam on everyone in the vicinity but not doing anything else really. They firefighters probably get to shoot the foam maybe 1-2 times a year, so they sure didn't waste this chance
They probably will charge the airline for the cost of all the foam too, so why not use it.

thats some scary schizzle there landing like that, i hope i never have to experience that in real life, anyone else too. kudos to the pilot.
on a funny side note xbrit, u forgot to put how fast was the pilot trying to use his mouse pointy thingy to X out so he could land successful.
