I miss the classics, mickey, goofy, and Donald. Watching shows in the 90s on a Saturday morning and seeing the movies, remember this one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqJT3gislZc When i was younger it was a riot. Now look at it, stupid shows and cheesy pathetic actors. I WANT MICKEY MOUSE AND GOOFY BACK! the only thing that seems to be alright are their theme parks and movie industry. But other than that they totaly lost there roots.
-
And you can! (for a price, on a seperate, "dedicated" additional premium network TV channel)
I wouldn't say the industry has lost their well-grounded roots, they just make you pay extra for them.

Mr. Disney died and other executives took over. of course the shows wont be nearly as good as they were.
-
Disney is pretty good when compared to a lot of the garbage out there.

Did not take long to go into the ditch after Walt died.

Somebody got mad at DisneyXD, they aired a few days worth of the new anime following lilo and stitch then completely removed it without a statement, first they get rid of the good stuff and put in bs shows, then they hold off the newer good shows, man people are such morons :cry

Disnet XD? Oh god, where to begin.
Was at one of my friends house, his little brother was watching tv and on it was that channel, was an anime that me and my friend watched as kids so we decided to watch for the first time in a while. The english dubs were horrible, and the only reason they couldn't have completely butchered the plot was because the animation stayed the same so they had to stick to that. Because they had to change up a bunch of the dialogue just to make it a kids show. (The original is in no ways a kid show btw)
All that being said, Disney putting Lion King back in theaters was a brilliant idea that made me and my girlfriend feel like we were 5 years old again watching it, but this time actually understanding the subtle dialogue.

Back in the 80's on Disney you could watch the older cartoons that arent shown on there anymore. I remember watching for the first time the Donald Duck picture "Commando Duck", which was about Donald and the Japanese during WW2. But due to crybabies, that picture has been banned from the television.
I also enjoyed the educational ones starring "Ludvig Von Drake"

I grew up watching looney toons. Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Foghorn Leghorn, Yosemite Sam all classics. A few years back my cousin bought the looney toons box set for his daughter instead of her watching the garbage on cartoon network. Theres an intro video with Whoopie Goldberg of all freakin people saying that these cartoons may be inappropriate because they can be interpreted as "racist" :bhead
Anything can be interpreted any way anyone wants to interpret it, but i would much rather have my kids watching loony toons than the crap thats out there now.

I seriously think the world would be a better place if they only showed Warner Bros, MGM, Time Warner, disney classics, and the cartoons from Cartoon network, Nick and Disney from the 90's and early/mid 2000's.
Bugs Bunny
Road Runner
Tom and Jerry
luney Tunes
Pop Eye

tweety bird (cant remeber what show he was on, think luney tunes)
Cartoon network:

Power Puff Girls
Johnny Bravo
ed, edd and eddy
Yogi Bear
Huckleberry Hound
The Smurfs
Nick:
Hey Arnold
Wild Thornberrys
rugrats
Rocket Power

I was in first grade when a certain anime came out... anyone remember? Pokemon :D (screw the ones later on the original 180 pokemon was the best and only ones worth watching for)

Disney has to go with all the older cartoon characters we all know and love and Warner Bros. also
-

Growing up in the late 60s we had 5 tv channels, 3 on VHF and @ I think on UHF :lol On sunday nights the whole family would sit around the tv and watch Walt host "Wonderful World of Disney". It was a exciting time growing up. He was a special man with a remarkable dream. After he died it wasn't long cable tv came to be. Fancy suit executives took over and watermelonwent downhill from there.
Walt had the animated movie and cartoon market cornered back in the day and all the talent came his way.
Call it watermelon if ya want, but Walt would beg to differ :D
Goofy
Popeye
BugsBunny/Roadrunner Show
Yosemite Sam
Foghorn Leghorn
Captain Caveman
Rocky and Bullwinkle Show

It's all political corectness gone to far
The old ones had toons smoking, drinking fighting etc
Aparently it effects the youth haha
But on a side note, the musicians walt got in to do the sessions where the best of the best in the jazz scene
And alot of them have said it was their toughest gig. To play some thing extremely well but extremely simply is a tough nut to crack. The music scores helped make the toons legendary IMHO
