Came across this article while searching for the current poll (Carolina is #9 woot!), found it rather interesting.
It compiles all sorts of stats from teams over the decade, factors them in with championships, bowls, etc. And ranks them purely on statistics.
I thought I'd post it here to spark a friendly debate over the true rank some of these teams may deserve.
(List near the bottom): http://www.frumpzilla.com/frumpzilla_site/articles/the-top-25-college-football-programs-of-the-decade/ (http://www.frumpzilla.com/frumpzilla_site/articles/the-top-25-college-football-programs-of-the-decade/)
If you don't want to follow the link, here is the "master list", compiling all stats:
1. USC
2. Texas
3. Oklahoma
4. Ohio state
5. Florida
6. LSU

Michigan only at 18? Disagree with that.

Oakranger good call I agree with you.

First off anyone NOT in an Automatic Qualifier Conference should be tossed out of these rankings. Secondly it's ridiculous to see Boston College, Oregon State, Texas Tech, Tennessee, Georgia and Utah in the positions they are in.
-
texas above ohio state?
lol.

what have they done to deserve being higher? Tossing non AQ teams is stupid, they play also. Don't tell me Boise shouldn't be included because of some toejam system.

Check the whole decade on michigan before making comments on the past 3 seasons of rich rod.

Lloyd Carr lost to Appalachian State.

IMO all Boise State has done is kick the crap out of many sub-par teams and thrown a big "look at us" fit while doing it.

Since the list was based on statistics compiled over the last decade it seems to be pretty accurate. I wouldn't let upsets here and there fool you.
Sorry Aggies. :cry

2007 - defeated #5 Oklahoma in fiesta bowl
2009 - defeated #4 TCU in fiesta bowl
2010 - defeated #6 Virginia Tech
2011 - defeated #19 Georgia in Georgia Dome
Say what you want about Boise, they come up big in big games.

2007 Boise played one hell of a game against OU, but I still think 9 out of 10 times OU would have won that game, but Boise won. As far as the others go, I wouldnt really know. TCU doesnt have a particularly good conference either, so they are about equal IMO.

Lloyd Carr lost to Appalachian State.
Va tech lost to James Madison last year, still finished in the Orange Bowl...(App State was the best team in the FCS, that year they could've won the Big East)
Michigan also finished 9-4 that year with a victory over a Tebow(Heisman year) led Florida Gators. Finished 2nd in the Big Ten(could've won it against Ohio State), finished #19 in the poles that season.
Michigan would've been a great team if they didn't hire Rich Rod IMO, they had probably one of the best QB's in the nation transfer(Ryan Mallet). Could've easily put a great team for times to come.
3 10 win seasons, and 3 Big Ten titles, not a Top 5 team, but defiantly Top 15.

Bite your tongue... let us Frog Faithful bask in what happened over the last decade.

Boise shouldn't be included because they only have to prep for 1 or maybe 2 teams a year and ANY decent college coaching staff should be able to coach kids up to play in those games and blow some head case at ESPN just to get them to come look at your uniforms and blue turf. Yes they play in a clown college conference and still will IF the stupid Big East accepts them along with SMU, UCF and Houston...yes the beloved Houston Cougars who are going to be the best team in CUSA this year but then again when you play Tulane, UAB and a bunch of other also-rands each season why not be the best of the biggest clown conference there is.
As for Michigan...beating Ohio State doesn't really count for anything now that the tattoo for play schemer is no longer the coach.
