Title: Umm Cap?
Post by: Dichotomy on November 04, 2011, 02:55:31 PM
Remember Golfers ruling?  I haven't seen any pics of the new Mustang therefore consider yourself Lando Calrissian in the following clip.

You might have a little trouble finding the shoes.

 :rofl at that video.

i'll be taking some this weekend. with all of the actual good pictures of all of your guys rides in the past, i'm not gonna put some cheesy picture of my baby sitting out in the parking lot at work.

i have found one thing that annoys me on this car.....i dunno if you or golfer have it on yours or not......apparently, the gt's have "skip shift". first to fourth. i'll be finding a work around, and be putting up some driving impressions this weekend too.

a what?
Title: Re: Umm Cap?
Post by: CAP1 on November 04, 2011, 11:46:03 PM
a what?

it's called skip shift. when the computer deems it appropriate, it physically locks out 2nd and 3rd gears. the first time it happened, i thought i screwed up and missed 2nd, accidentally letting the shifter slide over into 4th. then it happened again, and i thought....wait a minute....i've been driving clutch since i was 17...there's no way in hates i missed 2nd like that!!

that's when i noticed in the message center.......1--->4. then i remembered reading about it in the blue oval forums. i will find a way around it of course.  :devil

oh yea....i think the clutch would be easier in high heels, than in those silly oversize clown shoes.  :noid :rofl

Unplug it and tape up both ends if the connection w/ electrical tape.  Done.  It's easy to find where the plug is located under the car using the interwebs and you'll need it in the air for all of 2 minutes. You're being defeated by a simple solenoid.

Or don't shift like a little girl.

The sixes don't have it. The 5.0s do as Ford needed it to make the fuel economy numbers they have with it.

Beautiful ride, although I think I'm gonna go with one of the 65 reproduction bodies from Ford whenever I can afford to get a 'Stang.

Simple.   Do not spray until you are truly ready to wash it.   Spray it again just to be sure.

This is best done in the shade.   My current car is forest green and the last one was dark grey.   No spots on em.

I use Griot's garage products.   They have the best wheel cleaner on the planet.   Their clay bar is the best, as is their car wash soap.

I use one of the little blue chamois you can get from pep boys. Wring it out when it leaves too much water behind and continue. Be sure to dry it wet and you won't leave spots. I don't have the patience to do a nice wax job and full detail but I'm also not taking it through a car wash since the clear has no scratches in it. May as well keep it that way for now.

Also, RainX. Your windshield and wipers will thank you. When you're going 55 there are times I don't even use the wipers because the water streaks off so well.

i use old bath towels. at least i used to.

i'm at work right now, with 3 cars in the bays, 2 waiting to be picked up, and 4 more that have to be done today.

jeeze...i wish every day was this busy. i'd be able to afford to have 2 full time mechanics, and take some time off here and there.

Never use bath towels.   They have polyester in then and will scratch the clear coat.    Buy some microfiber towels and some cleaner for them.

very true, but if you're gonna be critical of one you can't afford, you could at least drive one that has decent looks......a ford festiva looks better than a stratus.

Again, that is where we differ.

I'd much rather prefer the aggressive looks of the stratus/Viper to the mustangs gaping mouth.

Only mustang styles ive ever liked, were the 71' boss, and the arrowhead.

i've never viewed the stratus as aggressive. if ya want chrysler and aggressive, then get a challenger. a stratus is an overgrown neon.

If having a personal opinion on something is "digging yourself into a hole", then i guess we're all sitting in craters.

Nothing wrong with having an opinion regardless whether it's right or, in this case, so horribly wrong to the point that I have to wonder if you've had a lot of blunt force trauma to your head in your life.  Light brain damage perhaps? ;)

Jusr because someone has an opinion does not mean anyone else wants to hear about it.  That is why part of Rule #4 reads, "If you cannot make a positive contribution to a thread, then stay out of it."

CAP, ya done good.
