I'm back........ :devil Of course, 99% of you won't remember me, since you haven't been here long enough. Look up the scores of Verm--. heheheh I never said I was good. Just an old timer.
I could really use some help. I finally built a new PC to start playing games again, and the new system really rocks.
But one problem. I have my original CH Fighterstick, Pro Throttle, and Pro Pedals, (USB versions) all in very good condition.
When I plug them into the system, Windows 7 64bit Professional edition recognizes them just fine. All buttons and axis's respond perfectly. Once CH Control Manager is installed (MY GOD they haven't updated the software in over 5 years), I can build maps and the software see's my controls. But when I go in and try to calibrate, the centering icon (the filled dot) is stuck in the upper left corner and will not respond. In any game I have tried it with, the controls do not work. Re-installing etc does not work.
Of course it seems that CH does not actually support the hardware they sell anymore, and the community website they link to CH Hanger, has been hijacked to a search redirect site.
Any help would be appreciated.
Verm.

Go here and get the W7 (all editions) version of the control manager.
http://www.chproducts.com/retail/tech_control_manager.html
Calibrate with it and then setup your controls in AH. You *may* have to move your control axis (all of them) through their full range each time you start the game. Minor annoyance.

As much as I hate to say this you might have to use a external powered USB hub and see if this helps you out. Plus from what i have heard you don't want to use the CH control panel ingame.

fyi, you should be using a self powered usb hub to connect that gear to your system...you will have a lot less headaches with it in the long run.
try to calibrate the stick in windows first, then calibrate in the control manager (new version chalenge linked), i've heard in some cases it made a difference along with the self powered usb hub.

W7 64 bit Ultimate
Installed CH Pro peds and Fighterstick a week ago, no drivers / no CH Contol panel needed. All programmable via in game interface.
Self powered hub.
The CH control panel install is only diff thing you did from me.... all working ok here.
-Just installed the control panel software yesterday to try and fiddle with pedal programming... did not affect any calibration of peds or stick.
Maybe get gear recognized / calibrate in game, then install the CH control panel (if you need it at all).

Thanks guys, appreciate the quick responses! :rock
That driver/manager version posted, was the one I used. I love CH products, but their programming is ancient. Didn't use to be that way until they got bought out.
To be honest, the reason I need to install the control manager, is to play BF3. I want to fly the jets and helicopters, but its impossible for me with a mouse. And that game only recognizes one joystick at a time, and I need to map the 3 controllers to a single virtual stick. I am installing AH tonight if I can get my 14 yr old off my computer.
In regards to powered USB hubs.... Anything I should avoid or look for specifically? Never owned one. My controllers worked fine on my old system without one.

You've heard wrong. There is no issue with Aces High and those that use Control Manager to program their CH sticks. I highly recommend those that want to get the most out of their CH sticks to use Control Manager.

And the 1% that do remember you are in an old folks home. :old:
Nice to see you again Verm, I take it once you get your controls in working order that you'll be making an appearance in the unfriendly skies once more?

Most Definitely ! :airplane: Good to see you Ack-Ack !!
Damn I feel old. I just looked at my profile and realized I been here since 1999, and I was in AW and WB's since around 1994.
I remember when we were blessed to fly with a 17" monitor, and you were rich if you have a 19" monitor.
Now I'm chomping at the bit to fly on my EyeFinity 3x1 40" 1080p HDTV trio.
With affordable video cards in CrossFire or SLI mode, and 32" HDTV's for $200 at Walmart, or $300 for 40", we live in a very blessed time.

I must have the ch control manager open or stick will lose calibration during the game. as it is for some reason i must calibrate every time i log in. I think what lawndart is thinking is the x52 control manager (or whatever it's called) it sucks in the game and makes things worst.

a good number of people have thought the exact same thing until recently. the problem is rearing its ugly head now because there are more usb devices being plugged into systems and people don't realize the impact.
just make sure the usb hub you buy has it's own power supply.

I'm running an all-CH setup on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, all three units plugged into mobo USB connections, and I'm using the CH Manager: no issues.
To calibrate within CH Manager, I have to select "direct mode". In "mapped mode" all I can do is test, not calibrate.

I used the Saitek SST Programming software with AH for years with no ill effects (over three different systems), however I have heard from many people who did experience problems with it. It is a bit confusing on the programming side of things I suspect that most issues are a result of that.
If AH supported macros and modifier (shift) button combinations then there would be no need to run any programming software!

You can program a shift button to switch modes. Copy mode 1 to mode 2 then change the buttons in mode 2 that you want to switch. Your shift button is mapped to change to mode 2 when you're in mode 1 and it's mapped to change back to mode 1 when you're in mode 2.
