I keep seeing reference that the C.205 carried a pair of 30gal drop tanks or 160lb bombs on the wings, I would much prefer to have the drop tanks, however I am running into horrible evidence that the c.205 ever carried them, can anyone shed some light on this?

Technically they had the ability but they very rarely ever did. They didn't need to fly very long missions. Most of the times they were flying defense over Italy. The geography they had to cover was localized. I believe somebody said the only planes that ever used them were some recon missions, but this is hearsay.
The bombs would be pretty useless in AH terms. Again, they weren't doing much attacking. They were focusing on fighters, bombers, and air threats. I can't say I've ever heard of a single C.202/5 with bombs.
I definitely would use those DTs, as I'm a big fan of the C2. I'm just not sure HTC will ever add them.

maybe with a remodel :noid

This is what I am begging for, a pair of 30gal tanks would take the C2 a long way, right now unless your base is capped you will easily run out of fuel in 1 sector flight to a base before ever running out of ammo.

^^ engine cannon and no wing cannon? What model would that be?
-
A C.202. Note the shape of the nose. It's the early model.
P.S. a hole in the prop doesn't automatically mean a hub gun is in place.

This.
Think 109E, no hub cannon dispite the large hole in the spinner.

The 109E was designed from the start for an engine mounted cannon, teething problems prevented it. Thats why the spinner was covered over in the E-7 model to improve aerodynamics. I have heard stories of field modded E-3's with a hub mount cannon at least being tested, perhaps some action.

Aside from a few rare exceptions it never flew with a MG/FF in the engine.
As for the C.202, there's no telling why it's there, but I've never heard it was ever intended to take an engine mounted gun. Keep in mind some props did have a hole there. Perhaps it was for some airflow or ventillation, or even just basic access.
Ki-84 prop:

Definitely no guns through the engine.
This P-51 also has a hole:

Definitely no hope of putting a gun in there.
This Fw190F-8 has one:

That plane could not physically mount a gun through the radial.
So don't read too much into it. Sometimes planes had one. I don't know specifically why, other than a couple of plausible hunches, but there you have it.
