Particularly on the date 22/244 B17-g 42-31533

Date Type ID-number(of the aircraft) Unit Target(city/town) Crash-site(near city/town) Dead/Survivors
So in your B-17G tail number 42-31533 there were 7 dead and three survivors. Aircraft crashed near Hajen/Daspe.

The top bit basically explains the id numbers, and the losses.
Ziel has many different meanings in German, but here it means "Target"
Absturzort literally means "crash site"
Tote/uberlebende means dead/survivors
Hope this helps :salute

Thank you.
Ok nothing new then.
There was a thread I started a couple of years ago with regards to that particular plane and flight.

My mother in laws brother was the tail gunner and was one of the KIA that mission.
Every once in a while new info leaks out as more and more stuff is made available on the web.
She is gone a couple of years now. but fpr my wifes and my own personal interest I still look into it now and again.

I took highschool German... I can tell you without a doubt, they're either talking about your mom... their junk... or beer.
At least, that's all I ever learned to talk about in german.
