Would it be in bad taste to add a altimeter to the E6B?

Ive always wanted 1 on there. after all..it is a FLIGHT computer that shows data. I do think an altimeter fits on the E6B without a doubt

I'm not sure I see a benefit... E6B tells me how much time I can run a throttle at a certain setting. It tells me this regardless of alt, because the higher up I go the more my manifold drops, and the E6B already reflects this.
We have weight on there only as a diagnostic tool for testing purposes (it wasn't there originally, if you recall?). I don't see any benefit (or, to be honest, a need) for alt readout on it.

Speed, wind, fuel consumption, fuel remaining, is pretty much all you need. It takes that and gives you "this much time left" and it does a very simple "this much time vs this much speed = this much range" based on what it already has.

true, and I've also done flight testing with the P-47 D-40 seeing how long it climbs to X altitute with X load and X weight. altitute isnt a problem to read from your altimeter but I dont think it would hurt to add it to the E6B.

Half the reason I brought it up was for aesthetic reasons outside for blind idiots like me...
This only popped into my head when I was flying my B29's at 48K and kinda wished I could watch my altitude AND climbrate as I flap-diving as I decended with my clipboard up...
But valid points either way...

The E6B in AH already gives up to much info. All I get when I go up in the Cesspool 150 is a slider, a wheel, and a prayer.
Be thankful we get what we currently get on our E6B.
