9:00 PM EST in the Axis vs. Allies Arena. Airplanes with bombs will be disabled in the fight area, scouting planes will be enabled (possibly the RV8 :D). The battle will occur on the streets of Berlin. After 45 minutes there will be a mandatory side-switch so that everyone gets a chance on both sides. No excuses from all you tankers out there, show up and lets have a giant GV brawl.
Allies:
All M-series vehicles
Sherman Firefly
jeeps
T34's-both
Axis:
Panzer-both
Panther
Tiger-both
Wirblewind
Ostwind
SKZ251

Thanks for setting that up last night in the Axis/Allied arena.
It was nice to have some GV fights and not look up and see bombs dropping. :D
That was my first time driving around Berlin in that terrain. I like the bridges and
all those buildings close together so tanks can hide. I got shot in the six a number of
times by Ambushers as I drove by..... LOL. Allot of fun!

Are PERK points required?

Are PERK points required?
Not in the AvA, it's all free.

See when you laugh like that I don't if what Easyscor said is a joke or true.
If they are free than it will be a bunch of Tiger IIs on the German side. Going to be a tough go for the Allies. Might be helped by teh fact that we are fighting in a city. Oddball from Kelly's Hero's [where I get 100% of my tanking expertise from] said that Tigers are open field tanks, and that shermans will have a chance if you can catch those Tigers couped up on those little roads in between those houses and buildings.

Some of you experienced tankers can bring some input into this thread to help them improve the next event.
Vinkman is right, the King Tiger is an unfair advantage.
He offered many times on the open channel everyone could change sides.
In WWII the Tiger II was in short supply so there
were not that many available for action when compared to the hordes of T-34's and Shermans.
In the next event only make a certain number available or don't activate the King Tiger if the option
to limit the number is not available.
If the event is advertised enough in advance we can easily have 50 or 60 tankers on each side.
The event will evolve in time, hopefully in the direction that makes it fun for all.
My two cents... :salute

All the complaints about taking over Tank Town and I don't see any of those guys posting. That's interesting. Chaser, you going to be there?
Sounds like it'll be a fun event for the GVers.

This sounded like great fun until the bit about the uber perk rides being free. I can't see any point to putting M4s, even Fireflies, up against Tiger IIs in anything remotely approaching even numbers. Tiger Is and Panthers would be bad enough. What's next, 262s vs I-16s?
(The Tiger II is almost up there with the 262 as something that never should have been put into any of the arenas, although for different reasons. If HTC are going to refuse to model the absolutely horrible mechanical reliability and other RL limitations of some of the late-war Axis monsters, they shouldn't put them in the game at all. The capabilities of some of these planes and GVs in the game is orders of magnitude greater than their actual impact on the battlefield because the disadvantages that made them such RL failures aren't modeled.)

The Tank battle was last night......12/1/11.
sorry ya missed it. I'm sure there will be another soon.

Thanks to all who took the time. The terrain made the perk monsters inconsequential. If it had been a long range open ground fight it would have been different. I collected some Tiger Scalps in the Firefly, and they collected a few of mine. Was fun! :aok

Needs M-18's :furious

They didn't advertise it soon enough. Already had plans for the night.
