Title: favorite skin?
Post by: jolly22 on December 03, 2011, 01:38:59 PM: I've been a little bit more active on the boards lately to hopefully get motivated to get back into the game. I noticed a new batch of skins have been released? Are any of these new skins your new favorite?

My favorite is definently the blue tailed P51.

What's yours? Picture would be nice because not all of us know all the skins by name!

Its called the 457th BG/749 BS by MotleyCH I think this skin would go nice with the blue tailed P51 you mentioned, or maybe the blue nosed one.

i know. the last time i saw new skins was when i was actually online. but now i dont play online because the gameplay seems to SUCK and the mentality in game is that of a 10 year old playing COD-the "1 C4n haz t3h 360 n0 sc0p3z 1 sh0t w1th teh b4rr3t 50 c4l!!1!" but what that translates to in AH is "W1nz t3h w4rz with h0rd3z!!1!"

Post by: SmokinLoon on December 03, 2011, 03:00:53 PM: There are a LOT of skins for aircraft and tanks that I really like, it is hard to pin a "favorite" skin.

I think I more look for a particular unit than a particular skin, namely the RAAF 75 Squadron and their P40E's with the white tail. Perhaps it has something to do with them being my grandfather's B24 unit escort up and down the slot. :D

I'd really really really like to find one of the B24 skins my grandfather actually flew in for his missions ("Pansy" and "Shady Lady" were for bombing and "My Ever Lovin' Dove" was for chauffeuring Lt. Gen Harmon around the islands). I dont have enough photos of his plane to get a full skin made, plus his plane was the B24D and not the J we have in AH. :cry

Just so you know, the real RM797 EB-E is being restored to flight in Australia and will carry those markings that it wore during it's 41 Squadron days. A Canadian pilot named Bill Stowe flew her.

I'd have to go with the 367th P-47D-40, since the real one was flown by a guy ive met

I like Kev's skins, cause we were squadies for about 7 years, and I got to hear about how he was doing them, I pretty much only fly US/RAF, so lots to choose from

That mean green 90th BG B-24, cause a vet pilot from the real squad lives down the street
and he went nuts when i first told him i fly his squad ride in the game

Hard part is no Gs were out there sinking CVs. The Fs were the last of the PTO 17s as the 24 took over for them with the better range and payload.
