simple. name ur favorite one and why :aok
MW2 Mercs for the storyline and commandermode. MW4 Merc came close second to that followed by MW3
-
I liked the orbital bombardment of 4k bombs dropped from a f-117 landing smack dab on a mechs head destroying it instantl..oh wait..that never happens.
Mech's are so 1970-80's
Dead idea. :aok

Mechcommander 1

The Warhammer. I forgot the variant but it is the one with the dual PPC's and LRM15.
It is the standard bearer for IS mechs. Long live Federated Suns and the Northwind Highlanders!!! :salute
:aok

Still trying to figure out the game completely, don't have a fav yet
-
I liked mech warrior 4, mostly for the story line, as well as some of the mechs just looked awesome.
mech warrior 3 was cool too, but for its own reasons.
I stoped like mech games when the "mech/tank" feeling was erased, the mechs these days simply feel like your playing a "big human" like in any modern day shooter, there is no split axis between your upper body and lower legs..things like that.
then again, i miss alot of the older games, game dynamics.

always loved the originals and the older mechs. the thor/summoners and the older (pre IS stealing them and calling them the Mad Cat) Timberwolves.
what about your fav game?

i wish they incorporated the idea of enhancing the dynamics of the mech to make them more like the human was controlling it through the storylines neurohelmets. (it was to make them act human in nature as the storyline had always had them depicting)

I would outfit the dire wolf with many jump jets and cannons as well as fill in empty slots with machine guns.
Then it's about making sure the opposition knows you are hiding behind an obstacle and luring them in close enough that you can jump over the obstacle and get near enough to destoy most any mech within 5 seconds.

No split axis? You have trouble moving your torso independant of your legs?

I liked Earthsiege and Starsiege
and the Starsiege offshoot, Tribes, remains the best team-based FPS ever made
-
MW3. Bundled with MSFFB2 :aok

The original boardgame.
I liked the Thunderbolt mech best. Medium heavy mech with lots of rockets.
We played the hell out of Battletech back in the mid 80's. Wish I'd bought all the mini's and books back then (oh, you can still get them but you'll pay way too much today).

i actually have a figure table game for mechwarrior. its based on pos WoB Jihad called mech warrior darkage. actually have a book series for it too. its really sweet how they kept the story going after the computer games' timeline. the Word of Blake was destroyed. ComStar is non-religious and has no military authority in the IS. but terrorists wiped out all interstellar communitcations and started hundreds of small wars and dozens of major wars all across the universe.

Anyone remember battletech solaris from gamestorm when we were playing aw3 :)

Monopoly followed closely by Risk. :P

I have mechwarrior II that does not say "mercenaries" on it but it is a cd that includes a version of mechwarrior optimized for ATI cards with 3d capability.
This allows for quality that was put on later versions.

MW3 was my favorite computer game- the closest the weapons fire and feel of the tech has come to the novels in my opinion- MW4 looked nothing like the novels and game lit describe things- they got the weapons and modding system all wrong.

My favorite 'Mech is still the Atlas. That thing just looks like 100 tons of walking death is supposed to look.
