Happy Birthday Jr :aok
I noticed that you live in Southern Cali. There was military vehicle (yard) museum of sorts just north of the 60 Pomona Freeway on Rte 19 Rosemead Blvd. It is easy to miss, but run out of donations I believe.
If you and your son are in the area, might make for a memorable experience. I recall, most of the vehicles were not complete but there was at least one Sherman that was in running condition. The guide told me of a Korean War vet that visited once and actually was allowed to run it. I hope it is still there and you are able to locate it. There were no planes when I was there, but a lot of Vietnam era equipment including a Huey IIRC. It is also a stones throw from Rosemead Park which has a radio control air strip. I always found some interestiing RC aircraft there.
All in all, this was about 10 years ago so hopefully these things are still happening, but if you are close by would be worth a 45 minute look to see.

Thanks for everybody for all the kind words. :salute
We had a party with 27 kids on Saturday at a kids party place. It was an awesome experiance. Monday morning they sang happy birthday to my son in school after the flag salute. We topped it off with a nice dinner at a restaurant called the claim jumper in my neck of the woods.
I took plenty of pictures of his day and he was one happy camper. :)
