It's a "This Day in WWII" event -- all are welcome to play.

Ahhh, December 7th... the day we defeated Kaiser Permenente at the Battle of the Little Bighorn.

I can't believe you guys. Someone comes along simply wanting to pay homage to those who fought back during an important day in American history and all you can do is pick at the poster's spelling and grammer. Disgusting. How about responding to the sentiment of his post, or don't you care?
So in response to the sentiment of the post with a little AH twist :salute to those who valiently fought back against the Japanese horde. It was a good thing the carriers had been hidden prior to the attack otherwise Doolittle wouldn't hve been able to run his NOE raid against the undefended Japanese mainland and the bomber and torp squads of the Enterprise, Hornet and Yorktown wouldn't have been able to bomb**** the Japanese fleet into oblivion.

I completely agree.
However, I believe that one should also have the capacity, out of respect, to at least make an attempt
to get such a historic date correct.
Regardless.

not being able or not taking the time to spell the place's name correctly doesn't show any respect whatsoever.

Exactly what I was thinking after I read this yesterday, I was too much of a pansy to post it.

I wouldn't be too hard on Bortas. He might be foreign. If that were the case I'd be truely honored that he would think enough of my country to post a thread in rememberence of an important day in our history.

The events of December 7th, 1941 deserve to be acknowledged with the respect afforded by proper grammar and spelling.

I live in Norway, but I truly respect and honor all the people who did their best to fight back the japs under what must have been the most chaotic and horrific slaughter for those poor souls that were there. Big <Salute> to all those who gave their lives to defend the harbor, and all those who died never knowing what hit them..
One can only try to imagine, but never fully be able to get a grasp of what or how it would be like being there during those horrific hours..
Who gives a .... about grammar or spelling.. ?!
