I was playing around in offline today with the wind and had it turned up to 127mph out of the NE. I upped a 163 into the wind and climbed to about 5K and leveled at full throttle. It then accelerated to about 737mph TAS and 615mph ground speed. So I turned around and went with the wind and reached 625mph ground speed and only 499mph TAS. Shouldn't this be the other way around? Ground speed shouldn't be the limiting factor, but TAS should. In this test it proved to be the opposite in AH.
Also wind noise is linked to ground speed. I was able to get the wind noise to play at only 170mph TAS.

Sorry it took me so long to get back.. i haven't been is this forum for a few days.
I'm a little confused about what your asking. IAS just tells speed minus what ever drag you lose due to air density (thats not exactly worded right but that's the best I know how to describe it.
But TAS tells me how fast I'm actually moving through the air. It seems that I should always be able to move through the air at the same speed. The only thing it would effect would be ground speed.
If I'm able to fly 600mph TAS into a 127 mph head wind then my ground speed should be 473mph. However, if I turn around and again fly 600mph TAS with a 127mph tail wind my ground speed should be 727mph.
It seems to be just the opposite in AH though.

Sounds like you got your wind direction mixed up.

You do know wind direction is the direction the wind is coming from and not the direction it's going, right?
In other words, a NORTH wind comes from the north and blows south.
