That is a great sight to see.  Real never seen a 190 and 109 in the air side by side and surprise how the 190 is slightly bigger to the 109. Only if these AC cost as much as a $20 to $30 thousand, i would get one.

For a sense of scale with the Storch.... starts about the 1 min mark.

WOW, that storch is a slow SOB.  Wonder if it was even worth shooting it down for the allies in the air?  Looks like it would be subject to ground fire with ease.

I was thinking the same.  I doubt it flew that slow (and low) all the time... but it could...

It was actually just staying airborne, displaying its STOL capabilities. Top speed was over 100 mph.

Of course it was worth shooting down.  Planes like the Storch and the Allies' Piper liason planes were primarily used as spotter planes to scout enemy positions and to spot for artillery.  It would have been stupid for either side to let any of these planes stay airborne over the front lines.  The balls these pilots and crew had were unmeasurable.

ack-ack

The 190 is "fatter" since it's a radial, but it is actually slightly shorter in length than the 109.

too bad its not an F or G 109 - the supercharger sound would be much more high pitched.  The A5 is a gem though. . .it sounds so fantastic, deep and just fantastic.
