These moments are rare (where I think :uhoh) and I didnt post this as a wish because it's just a thought that I had, and I wanted to hear input.
Why not release some of the new additions to the game, for private/hosted arenas before they are posted to the MA
Why I thought about this:
We would have a chance to try out some new toys and act sort of as beta testers for the new stuff. This might help avoid Offroad P40's, zeros cruising way too fast at alt, panzers that drive through trees and gameplay balance concerns. Also this would help promote the private arenas which as near as I can tell are not used much, yet offer a wealth of different options that we dont have in the MA.
The downsides I can see is that there could be an issue with player dropoff in the MA, which certainly would not be good.
The "newness" of updates might lose some of their impact.
It might not be a good idea to let the masses interperate new additions because there me be a direction HTC is headed in that we will not be aware of.
Thoughts? Opinions? Snide remarks?

Im guessing it has to do more with how HTC changes the coding in the game. I bet it is easier to make one lump set of changes vs piecemeal'ing it out.
-
Thats a good point, I hadn't thought of that. I wonder if it would be harder to just add say "the new update" for certain arenas, or even for offline?
I guess I'm kinda thinking in concept the trinity and serenity servers in EVE if anyone is familiar.

Apparently now theres a beta version
Go figure :lol

HTC routinely beta tests their large releases. Same as the last graphics update.

...And no one goes there because there is no score.

Not all beta testing is open. You're operating on an assumption which is incorrect. HTC definately does their due diligance as far as testing is concerned.

Yes. But when the opportunity is available very few take it. Then, they whine when things don't work when it goes "live".
In addition, some have asked, wished, for the ability to test new releases. Well, here it is.
