Chuwie and BAR321 :salute for all the fun last night.
After all the serious base cappin last night Chuwie launched a P-40 fun raid that turned out to be an instant success when someone turned up with a goon at the last second.

Then we launched another P-40 raid by someone else, but we failed to drop the town. A second wave with 5-10 goons dropped all their troops on a red flag.

Then is was Chuwie's massive NOE lanc run to finally get the half-day long stalemate that was 45!

check out the Midway plug on the last pic... lol He's a celebrity

The lanc pic is a perfect example as to why bomber formations should be perked or taken away outright.

The P40s and Stukas looked great though :aok

How so? You may think the reasoning behind your statement is obvious, but it is not.
To me that many Lancasters looks like an all you can eat buffet.
-
Look at my horde! Yay!
-
I liked the pic where some one said "We need more lancs". :lol
-
:lol
crazy fun

and people are proud enough to post pictures of this?

Welcome to the dark side of the force. :O

And I know you enjoyed my music, chewie :aok
-
:rofl
That's a good title, Chewie :aok :lol
How many sets of Lancs were there?
-
I think about 20 sets, Best we ever did was 124 lancs in 1 raid, EPIC and the GROUND shook.
-
What??? Play to have fun???? The audacity of some people to actually have fun playing a game, is there no end to this! :rofl
-
my pc never drops below 50 fps on this game with full graphics...
...this gave me 11 fps :lol
edit: stupid photo bucket messed up the quality

Yup, and I'm sure that those 20 guys who down a few cases of beer and race their pick-up trucks up and down Main st are just having fun too.
-

:rofl
Yeah because those two things are nearly the same.
-
Nah, they're doing the same thing as us, only in RL though.
Picking up chicks ;) :aok
-
I liked the comment about the swinging about of the bodily part :rofl

lol...wow

:cry :cry :cry
-
The point is that both groups are having fun, but neither group thinks or cares about how "their" fun effects others around them. Both groups chase away everyone else. While that works well for a bunch of drunks in pickup tricks all it does is create a play area that force those.who are not in the horde to look elsewhere for fun.
I know that most of you in that horde couldn't fight your way out of a wet paper bag and so have to find your fun another way, but some of us do fight and enjoy it. When we see hordes like this it is.nothing more than a pic fest. No fighting involved.
-
i really really REALLY wanna know how my goon on that last raid didnt lawndart into the ground at 500mph :rofl
and i love that nobody realized how much the 20th was harassing the vox on that lanc NOE :rofl everyone was calling wildcat a noob for it :aok
fugi, he posted these because they were fun... if you went with us for the brewster raid and the goon raid youd have known they were only made to laugh about how idiotic we were... same with the Stuka and Kate raid
-

In case you haven't noticed before now, if your definition of fun isn't exactly the same as Fugitive's then you are an xbox kiddy or something of the sort :aok
-
they were only made to laugh about how idiotic we were
ok, so it was a NOE base-taking mass horde. but in an ironic way. got it.
-
While - for the game as a whole - there is always the danger of 'too much' of anything, I'm personally very fond of enemy hordes. When I'm in fighter mood (most of the time), I very much prefer the sector with nothing but red dar way above those with just a tad of both green and red bars.
And there are few of us that can proudly state to never have been part of a horde, either by intention or by accident. ;)
-
Awesome, I saw myself land kills :aok
-
Horde of fighters, or horde of bombers, Fugi?
I for one would love to be in a 60 or 80 player buff raid; there's nothing like 200 B-17s flying (more or less) in formation, with tracers everywhere and 109s and T-Bolts slugging it out at 20k :x :D :)
-

didnt make that mission. the 20th went along for the ride just to mess with them on vox :aok and next thing ya know we were making idiotic mass goon drops on bases and torpedoing GVs :neener:
-
I liked the comment about the swinging about of the bodily part :rofl
6-2 sector of Ozkansas :noid :rofl :bolt:
all everyone needs to know :neener:
-
I dunno... The torps dropped on Panzers was pretty funny........
I'm gonna go try that offline when I get home :bolt: :D
-
What you all have to realize is; Fugi believes this is real life.
"Is this real life?!?! MY EYES ARE PUZZLE PIECES!"

We just need an old timers arena. AARP card for entry.

The problem is with the way players play this game now you will NEVER see it. You might see a horde of buffs together, and maybe an escort, but the most you will see is a few 262 blasting through trying to rack up as many kills as they can before they die.

If I was thinking this was real life I'd be flying as much if not more than Midway!

You guys just don't get it, you think your having fun, but you haven't even scratched the surface of what is available. Your all so content to run around rolling base after base.
It's kinda like the stuff they call "music" these days. Everyone "thinks" it's great, but in 10 years nobody will remember any of the players while those of us who know better will still be listening to and watching the next generation bring back all those great bands like Floyd, Zepplin, the Stones, Clapton, Hendrix. :D

For one I don't go around rolling bases. I have joined horde missions and rolled bases and it was/is fun. It is a different play style.
I am rarely out of a fighter but I don't look down my nose at people who choose to roll bases with a bunch of friends if they are having fun.
The easy most common response from you and other "vets" is it kills the fun of others. This is a myth. You can up from whatever field you want and fly against whoever you want. It is not a secret where they are.
I have seen big b-17 missions and flown against them in 190s and fought their p47/p51s many times before so I know it happens.

No, Leroy Jenkins went diving in all by himself knowing it was going to be suicidal and maybe hoping to drag his unwitting comrads along. You guys did just the opposite so please don't try to compare yourselves to a modern day folk legend.
-
How so? You may think the reasoning behind your statement is obvious, but it is not.
To me that many Lancasters looks like an all you can eat buffet.
Ok let me explain. You have 30 lancs in that mission x 3 = 90 lancs=840,000 lbs ord. It's no wonder bases get rolled like they do. IMO bases should be harder to take or at least not be flattened in one pass. I think limiting or charging perk points for formations and disable them in missions would cut down on some these arguments about the game. 30 lancs with 1000 pounders is way plenty for a base. Ya don't need 90.
You wouldn't like a formation of Pee51s would you? Formations are too gamey IMO. You want a formation, then get 2 buddys to fly at ur 5 oclock, is what i say. :P
And yes those buffs do look like a buffet. I'd of been grinning from ear to ear if I stumbled into that. :D But i still think in the long run the game would be healthier without free formations. :salute

hey bud, the reference to Leroy was the fact that we upped 15 goons on a suicide run flying to a completely 100% active base to drop troops at 11K feet and lawndart into the runway :aok
The leroy raids were not the P40 raids that happened. they were stukas and D3As torping and cookieing panzers and whirbles, a 30 strong brewster raid (that surprisingly did well in the kill count :headscratch: ), and as said above the goon drop :neener:
-
mummy I win I win! yeahh! :rofl

If 420 tons of high explosives isn't enough to level the largest airfield/strategical-target in this game at least 8-times over, might as well just hand the buff lovers their flying purple ponys with rainbow streamers, and those desiring to intercept them F-14s armed with sidewinders now.

You must be 12 or under based on your clever response.
