Title: A disappointed horde
Post by: Rob52240 on December 17, 2011, 11:28:01 PM
Lets see a little more defense next time please.

After the 100+ bombers hit a good many rtb'd to the nearby base that we first left from and flew in goons.  Possibly the least eventful take of the day.

Now think about it plz.
Who wanna fly a sector to that v-base only to face B17s? 3*14*50cals per set. Even a 262 will be nearly fatally injured after killing 2-3 sets... Then get chased down by the escort fighters?
k? kk

If you honestly want a fight, try not flying NOE to an out of the way field and killing all the hangars. A mission that size could climb to 30k fly five sectors into enemy territory and hit hq/strats on the way in and out.

Attacking that mission at 30k would be fun as hell and 'kind of' historically accurate.

You mean 10 109s vs 100 buffs and 20 escorts? Sounds kinda simmilar to the "American Summer" (1944, Hungary)

Disappointed that more wirbles didnt come out.  Lots of kills could have been had by all.

Nothing wrong with the rejects, they do what they do, and you do what you do :aok I would say hording a base for the"goal of capturing it" is much better and more sporting than those who troll the edge of bases looking for easy "overly advantaged" kills, or spawn camp!  :aok, where do you fit?   :x

you do everything possible to avoid a fight, then complain that theres no fight ...

should have announced it on 200 10mins before you lifted, you might have had a bunch of 190s and rows of ostis there to meet you.

It wasn't a surprise attack.  We were showing the sector alert the whole way there.  It was a just for fun mission and we had fun.  We would have had more fun if more than 2 guys tried to defend.

And there it is!  the real issue with the imbalance in Ace High!

Now ask, why only 2 to defenders? Find the correct reason and you're 1/2 way to improving gameplay!  :aok

the whole way there? A195 -> V140 is a 10 mile trip ... which means there was less than 3mins from buffs lifting to the first hangar going down.

the nearest airbase for defenders is 25miles away and requires a 15k climb over the mountains. anyone defending would have arrived well after the base was captured and your mission had all landed or bailed. since your bunch never defend the bases you've just rolled, the defenders would have had nothing to do when they finally arrived there. it would be a complete waste of time.

Not a long trip but usually when trying to liberate that field there's a gazillion flaks out to defend it.

a "gazillion"?

more like 6-9. and those are just on the field. you only need to hit the town you know.

haha Skorpeon fail  :lol
anyway, Rob... you luv being btarded by 30 sets of b17s and like 20 escort fighters, dont you? (haha, tell me a reason why to escort that "mission")
Someone has this in his sig: "no poor bastard can save his country by dieing for it. He saves his country by making the other poor bastard on the other side die"
Now sit down, open a beer and think about it before you fail even more  :aok

I'd never ask for or offer to escort B17s

30 B17s can fend for themselves.

yet you have 30+ P47's/51's/38's with you at all times, and say "fighters drop ords and protect goons/bombers". yes, i've heard that when flying past a horde.

:aok So you're claiming some guy in some horde has said that, and we should just assume it's the way it happens all of the time?

:rofl As far as having 30+ Fighters around me at all times  :lol

when did we start upping 38's? that's new. And its been a long time since we had 30 guys on. Its been a long time since we had 20 guys on at one time. You must be confusing us with another squad. Other squads have "hordes" too.

Skorpion thinks he's taking some kind of 100% accurate vCENSUS.  And since we weren't there in 38's because we don't fly 38's as a squad, ever.  He didn't take a few down, he didn't take a one down, and he got shot down by one other guy.  As we all know, assumptions followed by bragging about squeakilicious Aces High moments of extreme heroism must be true.

And no, you still can't join my squad.

No, not really as much as everyone thinks it does. We joke with it also. Everyone just uses it as a way to describe us, just like horde. Everyone says we are a horde, when usually there is only about 10-15 of us flying together. We spend the majority of the time hitting ord and troop bunkers on the enemy front than we actually do taking bases. Just depends on the night and what we wanna get into. Were not as into "Winning Ze Warz!!" as everyone thinks we are. Most would be surprised what all we do. Most just like to bash us with what they think they know. If someone shoots down a single V member they assume its a vTard horde when actually its just one of our guys flying in someone else's mission. I welcome anyone to come and fly with us to see how we really operate verse how everyone thinks we operate. Grizz came and flew with us, and i would say that he had a good time.
