Under the Nvidia listing of games rated for 3d Vision, AH is rated as good.  I've played it in 3d and the cockpits look great.  Although there are some issues. The gunsights do not
appear correctly and the Icons stand out too much.  It makes it hard to pay attention to the enemy plane.
The hit to my FPS was not worth the immersion.

3D is possible? what is needed?

A Geforce video card that supports 3D Gaming (my current GTX 260 card does), a LCD monitor that supports 3D games, and 3D glasses (the ones I ordered came only in wireless) and a 3D Emitter to the glasses (however it functions between everything).  I only know about my GeForce setup.

My current setup, I hardly touch the capability the video card can do because I only do flight sims.  The new video card will be a nVidia GeForce GTS 545 in dual SLI, should be a lot better.

Yeah, I saw that.

I was wondering how true it is and the quality of the experience.

Thanks.

Gunsights work fine in 3D and I have never had any issues with the icons.

The gunsights will be off center if you have a dominant eye, just like in real life.

I used to use one of these with AH in stereo 3D:

But after a good 5 years of abuse it died this year and I receive one of these yesterday:

Can you post your thoughts on the vuzix once you have spent some time with it?

Got the tracking going via GlovePie, the 1200VR native causes AH to crash (doesn't like the dinput8.dll library): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsUnNADVC90

Needs a little fine tuning still.
