Title: rename settings

I was having crashes and renamed my settings folder, it seems better now.  Does this mean that all my settings are potentially corrupted and I should just make new views controls etc. or can I safely use some of the files.  Also before renaming I would sometimes get weird video, sort of random polygon shard snow is this a common symptom of something simple like bad video card?

Random graphic glitches are normally associated with bad video RAM or a video card that is over heating.

Iti s possible for files to become corrupt in the "settings" folder if the game terminates abnormally.  Anti-xxx software can also cause file corruption as well.

You can always copy over files from the original "settings" folder and see if the problem resurfaces.  If it does not, then use the old files.
