Tonight they were talking about P-51 and showed a A-36 with the high fuselage behind the pilot....Looked like the photo I have.

I thought it was a 51 b/c

(isn't the difference between the b/c models is where they were built?)

B was built in California and C was built in Texas (So naturally the C was the better airplane)

A-36 Apache?  It was an attack bomber and predecessor to the P-51 Mustang and was replaced by the A-26 bomber in it's bombing role so it bears a striking resemblance to the P-51B.

Wrong.

The A-36 was a dive bomber developed from the P51, not a predecessor.
