Title: Predictions on computer components?
Post by: Getback on December 28, 2011, 10:02:10 AM
Anyone have an idea of what the prices will be in 2012 for Hard drives, motherboards, and intel chips?

i noticed intel chips stay around the same price, unless there's a sale at newegg, normally about 20 bucks off or so.  hd drives supposed to go down during the summer to regular prices.  mobo's go down in price due to them being replaced by newer models, but the good older models disappear fast.

at least that is what I noticed.

Received a coupon for $15 off the iCore 5 2500k. Just wondering if I should grab that. I'd have to wait for the other parts.

and my boot drive just failed on me I think... with this info I'm debating if I want to wait or bite the bullet on a Crucial M4 SSD for $105.....

last time i wanted to wait for something to go on sale it never did.  the e8400 kept its 169 price for 2 years all the way to the end. I would contact td if it was me.  he may have something on sale, you never know.

I don't think the prices on Intel chips will drop substantially but I guess it depends on how long you'll have to wait for the other parts.

Supposedly HDs are supposed to go through the roof if they haven't already--flooding in Asia.

I noticed that too. Was pretty amazed. You can still get em according to google shopping. But the average price is still well over $100
