Is there anything i can do to fix a "pitch up & to the left" all the time, something that I can fix? tried calibrating zip, same prob. wont stay level in level flight. It will stay in auto climb and auto level however.

You probably won't like this answer but get a better stick, that means not a Saitek. :salute

First calibrate in Windows using the Game Controller control panel.
Then calibrate in AH.
That usually fixed it for me.

how?

First calibrate in Windows"?

if you have win7 there's no calibration utility. just go into settings and move it around and it will calibrate itself. all sticks have dampening and deadband to avoid this jumping around. just give it a little in ah. that will fix most of your problems. ch sticks have just as many problems as saitek. i have owned more ch fightersticks (3) versus 1 x52 and 1 3d pro in the 5 or 6 years that i have played this game.

In Win7
Start menu, Devices and Printers
Right Click the game controller icon for your joystick
Choose Game Controller Settings
With my CH controllers, the dialog that pops up shows all three in a list
Double click for your X52 to bring up the calibration test window
There's a tab at the top of the window that says Settings. That page includes a Calibrate button
I hope that will help fix your problem.
Win7 goes nuts for right click instead of visual hints to the user

Your the Saitek of the Aces High world :rofl

@ guncrasher, yes it is an X52

there is no way to calibrate my X52 in XP, so I just do it in AH. also I find it best to open the advanced tab and calibrate the axes one by one, rather than doing them all at the same time with the calibrate stick option.

Your the Saitek of the Aces High world :rofl
I couldnt care less which stick is better than the other. I dont get paid to endorse any of them. but i just type my experiences with both of them. just like some people love their g940 while others cant wait to sell them :salute.

move both sliders up just a little. if you give it too much the nose will bounce when you move the stick and will be hard to shoot. that should fix it.

err ... dont touch the deadband and damping, it has nothing whatsoever to do with an uncalibrated stick.
just to cover the basics, what exactly do you mean by "pitch up & to the left"?
eg. if you jump in a tank's main gunsight, does the aim progressively move up and to the left, without you touching the stick?

when i had my x52 it had the same tendency to pul up and to the left. only way to fix it was to increase the deadband and damping a little. assuming of course the stick was properly calibrated.

I had the same problem for several months. Get a powered USB hub! Cleared the random left turn up completely.
I ran without one for years and never had the issue, but with time it got worse. I'm thinking the USB hub on the MB was just getting tired.
I bought a $20 Belkin hub from TigerDirect. Plugged in sticks, did NOT calibrate right away and had no issues.

never had the USB problems, maybe because I only have one USB device connected to each root hub on the mobo :aok

I have X52 also. I would listen to Dragon's suggestion, as I did and cured my problems.
Also, there is a cheap fix for the loose stick by inserting a homemade shim above the spring at the base. That takes a few minutes and delivers a bit tighter control for small movements.
Here is another test if you don't want to take Dragon's word. Pull up the software that came with the stick if you see the crosshair anywhere but dead center then do this. While in that screen, unplug the connector to your throttle. Then reinsert it carefully, I hate those tiny pins and round connectors (afraid I will misalign and bend them). If both connections are tight you should now see the crosshair dead center. If that didn't work try another usb port, but highly suggest that you find a powered usb hub to use.
By the way, I just built a make shift rudder pedals rig, using an old Siatek Cyborg. Even with that riggity build of mine, the rudder control is 80% better than with the twisty sticks. Not a knock on Siatek, just an observation that pedals are the way to go.

I had a busted wire once that messed things up.
